Hope With Depression - Episode 17| Shamebusting.

In the Hope With Depression Podcast, we have tried to cover the subject from every conceivable angle (like the book does), and provide you with useful resources along the way. Has anyone asked though what's it's like for the close family members? And they don't come much closer than a twin. Today we talk to Charlotte Crilly, the twin sister of Samantha (who's mum Lynne wrote the "Hope With..." series of books in response to the situation with Samantha. Honest and true in equal measure. Have you ever had feelings that you are ashamed of because "Good people should not have these kind of feelings?" Turns out you're not alone (hardly!), and actually, it IS ok to be human. Did no-one tell you? I know you are bombarded daily online with various good causes vying for your attention and support but PLEASE share this with anyone you think may benefit. It could potentially save a life. Just send them the link below. www.hopewithdepression.com The story is poignant and touching, it boils down to a mother’s love, and the grit, resilience, determination and commitment of a normal but extraordinary family. It could be any of us.  You can buy Lynn’s Book on Amazon HERE And if you would like to learn more about Neils work- ie getting YOUR important message out in this powerful way – podcasting, Click Here SUBSCRIBE ON APPLE PODCASTS (I-Tunes) HERE LISTEN ON STITCHER HERE Or say "Alexa play Hope with Depression the Podcast." Hope With Depression - Episode 16 | Escaping Victimhood.

In this episode we talk to the inspired American author, Lynne Forrest. Most of us have heard the term Co-Dependency, here we explore it in much more detail, with Lynne- or as she calls it "Victim Consciousness". We delve into the nebulous world of Belief Systems, and how they operate and create our experience of the world, and introduce a simple innate skill we all have, to begin to break free from them. We introduce the concept of the "drama triangle", a pioneering step in psychological understanding, and how most of us innocently step on it in a misguided attempt to save ourselves! I love the way Lynne gently and compassionately encourages us to own our lives and our experience, but without feeling guilty or overburdened with it. Hope with Depression - Episode 13a | Domestic Abuse - Part 1

At the time of writing, the UK (and much of the world) is in lockdown because of Coronavirus. And it dawned on me that being holed up if you were in an abusive relationship, would be a living nightmare. So after a morning of research, I have created a two part "emergency" podcast. * You are allowed to leave the house and travel even in the Coronavirus Lockdown if you are fleeing a dangerous situation, I checked this with the police** ** Contains content some listeners may find disturbing** Second installment tomorrow. **I heard earlier that if you dial 999, and do not talk but press 55, the police can geotrack (GPS locate you). I checked with the police 101, and it is semi true. When you dial 999, if you do not speak, a recorded message will come on, and say "If you require police, press 5 twice, if you require fire...etc". The relevant authority (in this case police) will be informed of a "55" and will then perform the requisite checks. There is geotracking to the nearest mast, sometimes pinpoint accurate ,sometimes not. I was also told that if you are in danger and you flee ANY building, residential or otherwise, that is considered essential, and completely legal. Thank you to the officer on 101 that provided me with this information, and indeed the whole police service. I also acknowledge that men are victims of this as well, albeit less. ** May contain content some listeners may find disturbing** Today we talk to Denise, who has been there, done it, and is happily free now, and making a great contribution, and we enjoy a legal perspective from Richard Salvidge a solicitor, who has dealt with this for years. Tomorrow, we talk to Amy that runs programmes to help people out of this situation where there is addiction in the mix,and Fianna who runs a womens refuge. PLEASE SHARE LIBERALLY.
