Phenomenal: Ria Soemardjo

I’m Trisna, a psychologist with an interest in the wellbeing and fulfilment of artists, performers, creatives and all those who follow their passions. Phenomenal is a podcast about walking in the shoes of some exceptional people who have paved their own way in life. In this podcast, I hope to not only introduce these phenomenal people, but also give an opportunity to understand them phenomenologically – by hearing their lived experience. For more information: www.iamreadypsychology.com/podcast-2/ Several philosophers and sociologists have commented on what is lost with the erosion of ritual and the acceleration of modern life. In a conversation that allowed pause to reflect on daily life, history, culture, place, politics, creativity and community, Ria Soemardjo and I explored what it means to grow up and create across cultures, find shared language, and to experience the power of community ritual. Ria reflected on navigating challenges and being sustained by human connections that open portals into new worlds of creative work.
