25 October 2026 - Imperfect Stories, Real Life (John 7:53 - 8:11) - Andrew Foster

This is the final sermon of our “Come Alive” series in John’s Gospel. Andrew uses the story of Jesus and the Woman Caught In Adultery from John 8 as an introduction, inviting stories from members of our church community about how they have found new life in Jesus Christ. For the sake of privacy, we are not publicly sharing the five personal testimonies that were shared after this message, so it ends quite abruptly! (And apologies for those following along who missed last week’s message, 18 October, from Tamie Davis. That one is unfortunately unavailable on this podcast due to technical difficulties.) 11 October 2026 - Worship Life (John 12:1-22) - Andrew Foster

Continuing our "Come Alive" series, Andrew's message comes from the first half of John 12 and is all about worship. Jesus receives many different kinds of worship in this passage, and accepts them all. What kind of worship will you bring? This message included a visual demonstration (Andrew pouring flour on Micah's feet), audience interaction, and some worship-in-song before the closing prayer – none of these come across too well in podcast format, but hopefully the core of the message remains clear enough! 4 October 2026 - Resurrection Life (John 11) - David Lang

David continues our "Come Alive" series, journeying through the middle of John's Gospel, by telling the story of Lazarus and his sisters Martha and Mary. After Lazarus dies, Jesus miraculously makes him "Come Alive" again, literally. But David's message focuses on the part of the story before that . What do we do when the Life that Jesus' promises us looks a lot like... well, death? David serves the Broadie community as Assistant Pastor, a role which has grown out of his nurturing of the "Yabbies" (young adults) of the church. Outside of this, and serving his wife Elsabeth and their two children, David is a composer and regularly gifts his musical talents during our times of worship. 27 September 2026 - The Good Shepherd (John 10) - Stephanie Seglenieks

For the next sermon of our "Come Alive" series, going through the Gospel of John, Steph rounds up all the implications of what Jesus means when he calls himself the Good Shepherd in John 10. Did you realise how many Old Testament allusions are in this metaphor? Jesus is telling us a lot about who he is, for those who recognise his voice! Stephanie is a much-loved member of our Broadview community. Even when preaching from the New Testament, you're bound to pick up on her enthusiasm for the Old Testament and Hebrew, which is the special focus of the Master of Divinity she's studying at the Bible College of South Australia. She is married to Chris (who loves Greek and the New Testament, especially John), and they have two great kids. 20 September 2026 - "But now I see" (John 9) - Jeremy Wright

Jeremy continues our "Come Alive" series (working through the middle of John's Gospel) by walking us through the story told in John chapter 9. Jesus heals a man who's been blind from birth, and the Pharisees are not happy. But who is really blind here? Do we have eyes to see who Jesus is? And what are we going to do about it? (As always with Jeremy's messages, it was accompanied by some special hand-drawn images. You'll have to watch the YouTube video to get the full experience!). Jeremy is a pastor at a Christian school, sharing the truth and love of Jesus while supporting thousands of students since he started over a decade ago. He has known Broadie pastor Andrew Foster for many years and both have a passion for playing music. 6 September 2026 - "I am the Light of the World" (John 8:12-20) - Miria Berlemon

Miria continues our series going through the middle of John's Gospel, "Come Alive." She unpacks the layers of meaning that are present in Jesus claiming to be the Light of the World, and why this Light is something that we all need. Miria and her husband Mark are key leaders in our community. Both are dedicated to seeing others come to know Jesus, His love for the world and His grace and power in their lives. They enjoy a good board game over coffee, singing worship in the car, a musical, being part of a full house at the Adelaide Oval, and a good cruise.
