“What if?” These two simple words are the spark that has ignited countless theories, discoveries, and inventions. Most of what we know about ourselves and the universe is because someone, somewhere, at some time asked themselves “what if?” The What If Show, produced by Underknown, makes science accessible to everyone by using hypothetical questions as an entry point to explain science.

What If You Never Aged? - with Jamie Metzl

What If You Never Aged? - with Jamie Metzl

What If you could live forever? Since the days of Ponce De Leon and the search for the Fountain of Youth, human beings have pursued longer lives, doing whatever they could to cheat time and extend their lives. Now, with genetic engineering/CRSPR technology etc. this is no longer a dream, it's a reality. We are on the cusp of literally designing how we'll evolve and how long we might live. The Author of "Hacking Darwin", Jamie Metal joins Peter and Richard to discuss genetic engineering, designer babies, immortality and, no doubt, Gattaca. Google it.

Chewiholic ,

I have a What If:

What if reality began to unravel? What would happen to everything? Would it pop into non-being, disentigrate into nothingness, or something else...

Also, what if death just stopped? Nothing could die, in any way. What effect would it have on the world, as well as the galaxy at large?

Finally, a shorter one, what would happen if you fell into a black hole? What exactly happens to your body in that situation?

I love your show, and would really appreciate It if one of these was discussed.

Great topics, horrible hosts

These guys talk about phenomenal stuff.
Too bad they base every horrible utterance from their mouth about how humans are so stupid on their personal political opinions.
If they would leave out how stupid we as humans are because we don’t all follow their personal ideology based on political mouthpieces, this would be the best podcast out there.
If you agree with their politics and with shaming humanity in every podcast, you’ll like this podcast.
If you disagree with them or think outside the box, you’ll probably only appreciate parts of this podcast.
Listen at your own risk.

I love the more detailed podcast

The short web episodes are something I enjoy almost every day. This podcast is an excellent deep dive into each hypothetical conversation, backed by commentary from world renowned experts from their fields. Worth the time for any curious mind!
