What I Got versus What I Expected: Post Pentecost Thoughts on Power and Expansion

Happy Tuesday!  Dr. Mo opens the doors of the church for a post Pentecost thought as she meditates on Acts 3:1-10. She discusses how the lame man had expectation of one thing and received a life altering and expansive gift!  Dr. Mo expounds on how we have the opportunity to know the Power of Resurrection as we think about the expansion phase in Dr. Aimee's work in "The Biology of Trauma". She reflects on her journey of learning why she was so hesitant to do the podcast and how with the help of the Holy Spirit through therapy, she can now KNOW power of Resurrection in her life. She expected one thing and received the path toward expansion.  Tune in to this episode as we think about how we can rise to life by asking ourselves what holds us back as Dr. Mo did concerning her hesitation to do the podcast.  God's power is waiting on us to do expansive things although the path might be difficult and uncomfortable.  The Holy Spirit has come to walk with us through our healing journeys.  Information for Dr. Mo https://www.drmoniquesmithgadson.com/ Link to order “Finding Hope in A Dark Place”: https://lexhampress.com/search?query=Finding%20Hope%20in%20a%20Dark%20Place%3A%20Facing%20Loneliness%2C%20Depression%2C%20and%20Anxiety%20with%20the%20Power%20of%20Grace&sortBy=Relevance&limit=30&page=1&ownership=all&geographicAvailability=all https://www.amazon.com/Finding-Hope-Dark-Place-Loneliness/dp/1683596358/ref=rvi_sccl_7/138-1785751-1148333?pd_rd_w=decCb&content-id=amzn1.sym.f5690a4d-f2bb-45d9-9d1b-736fee412437&pf_rd_p=f5690a4d-f2bb-45d9-9d1b-736fee412437&pf_rd_r=GMEBCA5ZB54MM98HHN5F&pd_rd_wg=pwctW&pd_rd_r=0cf054c6-aedd-427d-ac2a-563757407228&pd_rd_i=1683596358&psc=1 Follow us on social media:  https://instagram.com/drmoniquesmithgadson?igshid=1bmt2hei1j6i8 Support And The Church Said: Cash App:  https://cash.app/$andthechurchsaid

It is Finished! Power to Expand

Happy Pentecost Sunday! This series "It is Finished" is finished! Dr. Mo wraps this series by discussing how the power of the Holy Spirit rests upon us as it did back on the day of Pentecost. She continues to meditate on Philippians 3:10 and John 19:30. and Acts 1:4-5.  Dr. Mo expounds on how we have the opportunity to know the Power of Resurrection as we think about the expansion phase in Dr. Aimee's work in "The Biology of Trauma". As we develop the capacities to expand our psychological, emotional, and spiritual dimensions, we get to experience the power to rise to life. Dr. Aimee teaches us that we experience more self-awareness, greater capacities, and a better view of possibilities for the future.  Tune in to this episode as we think about how we can rise to life by asking ourselves what holds us back as Dr. Mo did concerning her hesitation to do the podcast.  We have permission to ask ourselves what makes us come alive and to experience Resurrection power in our lives until we too are caught up to meet Him in the air!  Information for Dr. Mo https://www.drmoniquesmithgadson.com/ Link to order “Finding Hope in A Dark Place”: https://lexhampress.com/search?query=Finding%20Hope%20in%20a%20Dark%20Place%3A%20Facing%20Loneliness%2C%20Depression%2C%20and%20Anxiety%20with%20the%20Power%20of%20Grace&sortBy=Relevance&limit=30&page=1&ownership=all&geographicAvailability=all https://www.amazon.com/Finding-Hope-Dark-Place-Loneliness/dp/1683596358/ref=rvi_sccl_7/138-1785751-1148333?pd_rd_w=decCb&content-id=amzn1.sym.f5690a4d-f2bb-45d9-9d1b-736fee412437&pf_rd_p=f5690a4d-f2bb-45d9-9d1b-736fee412437&pf_rd_r=GMEBCA5ZB54MM98HHN5F&pd_rd_wg=pwctW&pd_rd_r=0cf054c6-aedd-427d-ac2a-563757407228&pd_rd_i=1683596358&psc=1 Follow us on social media:  https://instagram.com/drmoniquesmithgadson?igshid=1bmt2hei1j6i8 Support And The Church Said: Cash App:  https://cash.app/$andthechurchsaid

It is Finished! Yet, we wait

Happy Sunday! Dr. Mo thought this series "It is Finished" was finished. Yet, it was not. As she waited on the Lord to reveal to her where she had a "spiritual pause", the Holy Spirit did guide with additional insights.  She continues to meditate on Philippians 3:10 and John 19:30. For today's episode, we read Acts 1:4-5 as we think of the Ascension of Jesus.  Dr. Mo expounds on how Jesus instructed the disciples to wait for the Father's promise. She discusses how we have opportunities to know the power of Resurrection within us and yet there are times along the journey, we must still wait for God's promise.  Tune in to this episode as we think about having to be patient with the process of finishing trauma responses in our bodies. Dr. Aimee, author of the "Biology of Trauma" reminds us we must pace ourselves through the process of completing trauma responses in our bodies. It will not work the same for everyone. And for some, it might not work at all. What do we do in and with the wait? Might it be an invitation of the Holy Spirit to expand our psychological, emotional, and spiritual capacities?  Information for Dr. Mo https://www.drmoniquesmithgadson.com/ Link to order “Finding Hope in A Dark Place”: https://lexhampress.com/search?query=Finding%20Hope%20in%20a%20Dark%20Place%3A%20Facing%20Loneliness%2C%20Depression%2C%20and%20Anxiety%20with%20the%20Power%20of%20Grace&sortBy=Relevance&limit=30&page=1&ownership=all&geographicAvailability=all https://www.amazon.com/Finding-Hope-Dark-Place-Loneliness/dp/1683596358/ref=rvi_sccl_7/138-1785751-1148333?pd_rd_w=decCb&content-id=amzn1.sym.f5690a4d-f2bb-45d9-9d1b-736fee412437&pf_rd_p=f5690a4d-f2bb-45d9-9d1b-736fee412437&pf_rd_r=GMEBCA5ZB54MM98HHN5F&pd_rd_wg=pwctW&pd_rd_r=0cf054c6-aedd-427d-ac2a-563757407228&pd_rd_i=1683596358&psc=1 Follow us on social media:  https://instagram.com/drmoniquesmithgadson?igshid=1bmt2hei1j6i8 Support And The Church Said: Cash App:  https://cash.app/$andthechurchsaid

    It is Finished - Expansion

Happy Sunday! Dr. Mo thinks this series "It is Finished" is finished. However, stay tuned.  She discusses Philippians 3:10 and adds to the focus John 19:30 for today’s episode. She focuses on the three infamous words uttered by Jesus “it is finished.”  Dr. Mo links this saying of Jesus back to the neuroscience and Philippians 3:10 as she thinks about how our bodies must finish the trauma response when it is started.  Dr. Mo discusses how our bodies are already created with the universal response needed to bring them to safety and growth after trauma experiences.  We continue to delve into the data from Dr. Aimee's book "The Biology of Trauma", as we walk through the essential sequence needed to begin the healing work:  safety, support, and expansion.  Today, we dive into the expansion component of the essential sequence.  Expansion must not be rushed. It is not an intellectual exercise. It is experiential. It must be consistent. It must not be entered into until regulation and stability is firmly established.  Tune into this episode as we discuss how to think about the ways God invites us into knowing the power of His Resurrection.  How do we think about God’s invitation to rise to life by moving from surviving to living and declaring along with Jesus, “IT IS FINISHED”? Especially, if we do not think beyond support in relationships.  Tune in to this episode as we discuss how to think about the ways our bodies need support as we undergo the healing processes. It Is Finished

Happy Sunday after Resurrection Sunday!  Dr. Mo continues to discuss Philippians 3:10 and adds to the focus John 19:30 for today’s episode. The body has to go THROUGH the trauma response and FINISH the sequence. If not, trauma remains stuck in our bodies.  Our bodies are already equipped to rise to life and God promises that we can know His power. Tune in to this episode as we think about God’s invitation to rise to life and to know His power to finish the trauma responses that have been started in some of us. A betrayed, bruised, beaten body Resurrected

Happy Resurrection Day! Dr. Mo continues to expound upon Philippians 3:10.  She focuses on the 2nd part of that verse by pondering what does it mean for us to know the power of resurrection. How do we move from understanding the close association with Jesus and suffering to knowing the power of rising to life? Especially when we have suffered betrayal, bruising, and beatings, both psychologically and physically.  Tune in to this episode as we think about God’s invitation to rise to life and to know His power after we have experienced traumas and sufferings in our lives.
