REVIEW | Digger | Movie Review

TODAY'S SPONSOR: Factor Head to https://factormeals.com/seanchandler50off and use code seanchandler50off to get 50 percent off and free breakfast item per box. Eat like a pro this month with Factor. I finally caught up with Digger, and Tom Cruise’s ambitious satire left me with a lot to unpack. There’s tremendous filmmaking, a committed Cruise performance, and layers of commentary about power, climate change, and public apathy. But the humor and ideas didn’t consistently land for me. In this review, I discuss what worked, what felt hollow, and why I’d recommend Digger to cinephiles more than casual moviegoers. Then I explore its polarizing reception, box office struggles, enormous budget, and what its performance actually says about the demand for original movies. Did you see Digger? What did you think? If you skipped it, what kept you from buying a ticket? #Digger #TomCruise #MovieReview0:00 Intro 0:50 Expectations and the confusing marketing 2:50 A bold vision and divided reactions 6:13 Cinephiles vs. casual moviegoers 7:45 Climate change, power & public apathy 10:34 Does the self-aware satire work? 11:48 Tom Cruise’s speech scene 13:24 Why the movie felt hollow 15:33 Tom Cruise’s big career swing 16:53 The $150 million budget & box office problem 20:04 What audiences mean by “original movies” 22:36 The limits of Tom Cruise’s star power 24:29 What worked and what didn’t 26:11 Final scores & recommendation FIND ME ONLINE INSTAGRAM @seantalksabout TWITTER @kirkneverdied FACEBOOK https://www.facebook.com/seanchandlertalksabout LETTERBOXD https://letterboxd.com/seanchandler/ TIK TOK https://www.tiktok.com/@seanchandler83 Patreon https://www.patreon.com/seanchandler My Merch Store https://sean-chandler-talks-about.dashery.com Check out the complete list of gear I use for creating my YouTube videos here: https://kit.co/SeanChandler/my-youtube-equipment Fan Mail can be sent to: Sean M. Lanterns Season 1 Review

TODAY'S SPONSOR: Factor Head to https://factormeals.com/seanchandler50off and use code seanchandler50off to get 50 percent off and free breakfast item per box. Eat like a pro this month with Factor. Season 1 of Lanterns has wrapped up, and I understand both sides of the debate. Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre deliver great performances as Hal Jordan and John Stewart, but I wanted more Green Lantern action, powers, and heroics. In my full-season review, I discuss the strong character work, the True Detective approach, the “Surf Dracula” problem, John Stewart’s repeated origin stories, and the frustration of deconstructing superheroes before establishing them. What did you think of Lanterns? Share your thoughts below, along with your experience with Green Lantern, the DCU, and True Detective! SPOILER WARNING: Specific story and finale spoilers begin at 8:06. #Lanterns #GreenLantern #DCU0:00 Intro 0:34 Why I agree with both sides 1:41 Great leads and layered characters 2:10 Cosmic police in small-town Nebraska 4:25 True Detective with a Green Lantern skin 6:51 The “Surf Dracula” problem 8:06 SPOILERS: John Stewart’s three origin stories 11:13 Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre & character dynamics 12:06 Deconstructing heroes before building them 14:44 Using superhero franchises to tell other stories 16:34 Why both sides of the debate have a point 17:19 What Arrow and The Flash delivered immediately 18:49 Final verdict FIND ME ONLINE INSTAGRAM @seantalksabout TWITTER @kirkneverdied FACEBOOK https://www.facebook.com/seanchandlertalksabout LETTERBOXD https://letterboxd.com/seanchandler/ TIK TOK https://www.tiktok.com/@seanchandler83 Patreon https://www.patreon.com/seanchandler My Merch Store https://sean-chandler-talks-about.dashery.com Check out the complete list of gear I use for creating my YouTube videos here: https://kit.co/SeanChandler/my-youtube-equipment Fan Mail can be sent to: Sean M. SPOILERS | Spider-Man Brand New Day

SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY is finally here, I've now seen it TWICE, and it's time to talk SPOILERS!We're breaking down everything: Peter Parker returning to being the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Scorpion and Tombstone, the bizarre use of The Hand, Jon Bernthal's Punisher, the return of rage monster Hulk, Yelena, MJ and Ned, Damage Control, Peter's Spider-Mutation and the massive introduction of Jean Grey. And that Jean Grey reveal gives us A LOT to discuss. The movie wants us to sympathize with her, but she also drives a tank through New York, plants a bomb at a government facility, takes control of innocent people, sends someone walking into traffic and intentionally uses Peter's memories of MJ to emotionally torment him.We also need to talk about Peter's mutation and the technology he creates to restrain powered individuals. Is Spider-Man: Brand New Day quietly setting up one of the biggest threats mutants and the X-Men will face in the MCU?Then there's the third act, the latest Marvel third-act trope, and the post-credit scene.FULL SPOILERS ahead!TIMESTAMPS (SPOILERS IN TIME STAMPS)0:00 Intro0:44 Second Viewing Review11:45 Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man15:56 Scorpion & Tombstone18:56 The Hand22:46 Frank Castle / Punisher31:36 The Hulk34:41 Yelena39:13 MJ & Ned44:28 The Main Plot & Damage Control47:25 Spider-Mutation & Mutant Tech50:53 Jean Grey1:00:36 Third Act1:03:29 Post-Credit Scene#SpiderManBrandNewDay #SpiderMan #MarvelFIND ME ONLINE INSTAGRAM @seantalksabout TWITTER @kirkneverdied FACEBOOK https://www.facebook.com/seanchandlertalksabout LETTERBOXD https://letterboxd.com/seanchandler/ TIK TOK https://www.tiktok.com/@seanchandler83 Patreon https://www.patreon.com/seanchandler My Merch Store https://sean-chandler-talks-about.dashery.com Check out the complete list of gear I use for creating my YouTube videos here: https://kit.co/SeanChandler/my-youtube-equipment Fan Mail can be sent to: Sean M.
