    Passing the Faith to the Next Generation // Youth Sunday Sermon

    How do we pass the faith to the next generation? In this Youth Sunday message from Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in SeaTac, Washington, we reflect on God's calling to teach, encourage, and nurture children and young people in the Christian faith. Through His Word, God works across generations, bringing people to know the saving love of Jesus Christ. In Deuteronomy 6:4–9, God's people are instructed to keep His Word before them and teach it diligently to their children. In 1 Timothy 4:12–16, Paul encourages Timothy to be an example in faith and Christian living, regardless of his age. And in Matthew 19:13–15, Jesus welcomes and blesses the little children, reminding us of the precious place they hold in His kingdom. As our school and Youth Club help assist in worship, we celebrate the gifts children and young people bring to the life of the Church. Passing on the faith is not simply a task for parents or teachers; it is a calling shared by the whole Christian community.     Invited to the Feast // Christian Sermon Isaiah 25 Matthew 22

    Jesus describes the kingdom of heaven as a great wedding banquet where sinners are welcomed by grace. God's invitation is generous and joyful, calling people into fellowship with Christ. Though many may resist or ignore the invitation, the Lord continues to gather His people around His gifts. In Christ, the Church receives a foretaste of the eternal feast where sorrow, death, and fear will be swallowed up forever. As we gather for Matins Prayer Service, we hear God's Word and rejoice in the promise that Christ has prepared a place for His people at the eternal feast.     Fruit of the Kingdom Matthew 21:33–46 // Sermon Audio

    What does it mean for God's people to bear fruit? In this sermon from a special joint worship service of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church and Lutheran Church of the Atonement in Burien, we hear Jesus' parable of the tenants from Matthew 21:33–46. God calls His people to bear fruit in lives shaped by faith and repentance. The parable also points us to Jesus Christ, the cornerstone rejected by the world yet chosen by God for our salvation. Our lives do not produce the fruit of God's kingdom through our own strength or righteousness. God works through His grace to create faith and repentance and to shape lives that reflect His love. As Christians gather around God's Word, we are reminded that our hope is not found in ourselves but in Jesus Christ, the cornerstone of our salvation.     True Repentance // Together in Christ Sermon Audio

    What does genuine repentance look like? In the final sermon of the Together in Christ series, we are challenged with the difference between outward religion and genuine faith. Repentance is more than saying the right words or appearing religious. True repentance turns us toward God and recognizes our need for His mercy and forgiveness. God's Word calls us beyond appearances and into a life shaped by faith, repentance, and trust in His mercy. The good news of repentance is not simply that we need to change. It is that God is merciful to sinners. In Christ, forgiveness is offered freely, and His grace creates a new life. As we close Together in Christ, we are reminded that Christian community is not a gathering of people who have everything together. It is a community of sinners who continually turn to their Savior for mercy.     Grace Is Not Fair // Together in Christ // Matthew 20:1–16

    What!? God's grace isn't fair?! Yes and that's actually good news.  In this sermon from the Together in Christ series, Jesus' parable of the workers in the vineyard challenges our understanding of fairness, deserving, and God's generosity. We naturally compare ourselves with others. Who worked harder? Who deserves more? Who has earned God's favor? But the kingdom of God operates according to grace rather than human calculations. God's love is not something we earn. His grace is given freely through Jesus Christ. That grace humbles us because we cannot claim credit for it. And it comforts us because God's generosity is greater than our failures. If God's grace has been freely given to us, Christ also calls us to become people who show generous love toward others.     Forgiven People Forgive?! // Together in Christ Matthew 18:21–35 Sermon

    How can forgiven people forgive others when the hurt is real? In this sermon from the Together in Christ series, we hear Jesus' teaching about forgiveness through the parable of the unforgiving servant in Matthew 18. The debt we owe God because of our sin is far beyond anything we could repay. Yet in Christ, God has forgiven us completely. That immeasurable mercy changes how we are called to respond to others. Forgiveness is not always easy. It can be painful and costly. But Christians are people who live every day from the forgiveness they have already received through Jesus. The question is not whether forgiveness is difficult. The question is whether we will allow God's mercy toward us to shape the way we extend mercy to others.     Caring for One Another // Together in Christ Matthew 18:1–20

    What does it mean to care for one another as the people of Christ? In this first sermon of the Together in Christ series, we hear Jesus teach His Church how to walk together in repentance, humility, and reconciliation. Christian community is not built on perfection. It is built on the grace of God, the truth of His Word, and a willingness to care for one another. In Matthew 18, Jesus speaks about humility, protecting the vulnerable, confronting sin, seeking restoration, and the importance of gathering together in His name. As followers of Jesus, we are called not simply to attend church together, but to live together as people who have been forgiven and shaped by the grace of Christ.
