Kingdom Growth: Plant Seeds of the Kingdom Matthew 13 Sermon

How does God's kingdom grow? In this sermon from the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost, Jesus tells the Parable of the Sower, revealing that the growth of God's kingdom depends not on human effort but on the power of His living Word. Like a farmer scattering seed, God continues to sow His Word generously into every kind of heart, creating faith and producing fruit according to His gracious purpose. We gather around Isaiah 55:10–13, Romans 8:12–17, and Matthew 13:1–9, 18–23, this message offers encouragement to Christians who faithfully share God's Word and reminds us that the Lord alone gives the growth. Theme: Plant Seeds of the Kingdom Scripture Readings: Isaiah 55:10–13 Romans 8:12–17 Matthew 13:1–9, 18–23 This sermon was preached at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in SeaTac, Washington, a congregation of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). The Cost of Following Jesus // Matthew 10:34–42 Sermon

What does Jesus mean when He says that following Him may bring division, sacrifice, and hardship? In this sermon for the Fifth Sunday after Pentecost, we explore Christ's challenging words in Matthew 10 and discover that true discipleship is not built on comfort or popularity but on trusting the One who gave His life for us. While following Jesus may come at a cost, His promises never fail. Those who belong to Him are known, loved, and will never lose the reward He has prepared for His people. Together with Romans 7:1–13, this message points us to the freedom Christ has won through His death and resurrection. The Gospel reminds us that our hope is not found in earthly security but in the Savior who calls us to follow Him and gives us strength for every step of the journey. Theme: The Cost of Following Jesus Readings: Romans 7:1–13 Matthew 10:34–42 This sermon was preached at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in SeaTac, Washington, a congregation of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). #ChristianPodcast #FollowJesus #sermon Support the show Thank you for joining us.
