Cowboys vs Buccaneers: 5 Keys Dallas MUST Follow To Win | Cowboys Daily Blitz

The Dallas Cowboys return home Thursday night for a matchup they simply cannot afford to lose. Dallas enters the game 2-2 after beating the Houston Texans 34-30, while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers come to AT&T Stadium at 0-4 and dealing with major injury problems. With Baker Mayfield sidelined early in the week and rookie Jalon Daniels expected to start, the Cowboys have a clear opportunity to pressure an inexperienced quarterback and take control of the game early. But Tampa Bay’s defense is better than its record suggests, which means Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens and the Dallas offense will still have to execute. On today’s Dallas Cowboys Daily Blitz: • The latest Cowboys injury updates • Tyler Smith’s potential return • Why Dallas must contain Jalon Daniels • How Dak Prescott can attack Tampa Bay’s secondary • Why Javonte Williams still matters against a strong run defense • The five biggest keys to a Cowboys victory • Cowboys-Buccaneers prediction Dallas has road games against Green Bay and Philadelphia coming next, making Thursday night one of the most important games of the early season. Did Dallas STEAL a Star? Joey Porter Jr. Changes Cowboys Defense | Cowboys Daily Blitz

Did the Dallas Cowboys just steal a star? On this edition of the Dallas Cowboys Daily Blitz, Timm Hamm breaks down Joey Porter Jr.’s debut with Dallas and why his presence could completely change what the Cowboys are able to do defensively. Porter didn’t need a huge stat line to make an impact. The more important development was how little Houston wanted to challenge him. If Porter can consistently hold up in man coverage and take away one side of the field, Dallas suddenly has more freedom to: Bring extra pressure Roll safety help elsewhere Play more aggressive coverage Protect weaker matchups Give the pass rush more time to get home Timm also explains why Porter’s size, length and physical style make him a potentially strong fit in Dallas, what the Cowboys should watch over the next few games, and why the trade could look even better if Porter quickly earns a full-time role. Topics include: Joey Porter Jr.’s first game with the Cowboys Why quarterbacks avoiding him matters How Porter changes Dallas’ defensive flexibility Man coverage and pressure packages What to watch with Porter’s snap count Penalties and physical coverage Whether Dallas found a long-term answer at corner Why this trade could become one of the Cowboys’ best moves Subscribe to Fan Stream Sports for more Dallas Cowboys news, analysis, reaction and daily coverage on the Cowboys Daily Blitz. Cowboys Pass Rush Is BROKEN — Can Dallas Fix It Before Houston? | Cowboys Daily Blitz

The Dallas Cowboys pass rush has become a major problem, and it’s one Dallas needs to solve quickly. On this edition of the Dallas Cowboys Daily Blitz, IndyCarTim breaks down why the Cowboys’ inability to consistently get to the quarterback is becoming one of the biggest concerns surrounding the defense. Dallas has recorded just two sacks through three games and has gone two straight games without a sack. Pressure is one thing. Actually putting the quarterback on the ground is another. So what’s the answer? Should defensive coordinator Christian Parker blitz more aggressively? Can Quinnen Williams and the defensive front start creating more havoc? ️ Does an injury-hit secondary make blitzing too dangerous? Can Dallas manufacture pressure with different fronts and simulated pressures? And the timing matters. The Cowboys now head to Houston to face an 0-3 Texans team that desperately needs a win. Dallas is sitting at 1-2, making this an important early-season game for Brian Schottenheimer’s team. The Cowboys cannot allow Houston to suddenly find its offensive rhythm because the quarterback has all day to throw. Timm also discusses: Dallas’ 34-31 loss to Baltimore Why the defense couldn’t make the final stop Jerry Jones and potential roster additions The Cowboys’ upcoming schedule Why Sunday could expose an even bigger defensive problem If Dallas can’t generate pressure against Houston, the conversation surrounding this defense is going to get considerably louder. Cowboys CHOKE in Final 23 Seconds! Dak, Schottenheimer & Clock Chaos

The Dallas Cowboys lost 34-31 to the Baltimore Ravens in Rio, but the real story was how Dallas completely unraveled in the final 23 seconds. On this episode of the Dallas Cowboys Daily Blitz, we break down the late-game sequence that turned a potential Cowboys win into another painful loss. Dallas had the ball at the 2-yard line with 23 seconds left, a productive running game and a chance to take the lead. Instead, the Cowboys: Didn’t run the ball once Took a false start Burned a questionable timeout Had Dak Prescott throw the ball away on third down Settled for a field goal Kicked the ensuing kickoff through the end zone Then allowed Zay Flowers to get loose for a 27-yard gain Baltimore used that final possession to set up a 56-yard game-winning field goal. We also look at Brian Schottenheimer’s admission that he may have “overcoached” Dak Prescott, the decision to play conservatively near the goal line and whether Dallas simply outsmarted itself when the game was on the line. And don’t overlook this: Javonte Williams had 98 yards on 19 carries, averaging 5.2 yards per attempt, yet Dallas never handed him the ball from the 2-yard line in the deciding sequence. This wasn’t bad luck. This was bad situational football. Subscribe to Fan Stream Sports for daily Cowboys analysis, reaction and opinion. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
