    All About REPERATIONS (Ghetto Until Proven Trendy Black History Facts)

    This week we will be talking about reparations!!  What are reparations?  Reparations is compensation given for abuse/injuries.  Black folk know that we have endured abuse from this country since the 1500s.. but do you feel we are owed some compensation for our pain and suffering?  What if I told you that other subgroups of people were compensated for their years of suffering on behalf of their government?  What if I told you that half of this nations wealth comes directly from the cotton picking industry?  What if I told you that although slaves built most of America’s infrastructure... the slave master accumulated the wealth from it and was able to pass that wealth down for generations and we received nothing !!!  What if I told you that the government paid out slave owners the market value for each slave that they owned in exchange for their freedom but gave the slave nothing!  Would you still feel the same?  Make sure you tap into this video were we explain why we believe that all descend of slaves should receive reparations and we express our support for HR-40!!  Let us know what ya think !!!!     Your Favorite Dish Probably Came From Us- (Ghetto Until Trendy Episode 2- Black History Facts)

    What’s up y’all ? Welcome to episode 2 of Ghetto Until Proven Trendy our black history special. This week we are talking about the history of southern food in a fun way.   Fun Fact: Okra, watermelon, and coffee beans ALL CAME FROM AFRICA  We used to grow and eat watermelon in the fields to keep ourselves from fainting.   Africans have always bonded through food. Although slavery is a tragic part of our history, the least we can do is honor our ancestors by learning their stories. Everything that we have been through made us who we are today.   We carry on a lot of traditions to this day that started with our ancestors and we don’t even know it. The more you learn about them the more you learn about yourself.     Message From Atlanta Protestors

    This historical episode was filmed after the massive protest in Atlanta for George Floyd on May 30,2020 #ATLANTA WE MADE HISTORY!! We can sit here and talk about some of the negative things that happened yesterday or we can talk about the positivity that occurred! I was there all day what I observed were people praying together, putting their ideas together to find solutions post voting cause we can’t trust y’all! I saw people venting their frustrations and having positive conversations with each other and the police! The most heinous shit wasn’t even started by the protesters please spread the word! If we started arguing with each other another one of us would intervene and tell them that’s not what we are here for and it would calm down.  We had each other back during a pandemic, that’s nothing but LOVE! The Elders were even out! Check our highlights on IG @nailahx_ and @a_legit_beauty. It was outsiders that just came out of nowhere starting to do stuff like throw stuff at police, destroying the CNN building and cop cars. Then some angry and rightfully so ppl joined in. And TBH a lot of us think the ppl who started it were paid to do it from the way it looked. History repeats itself research what really happened at the poor people’s campaign MLKs last rally and you will see THEY WILL PUT PEOPLE IN PLACE TO MAKE US ALL LOOK BAD don’t believe the hype!  The people making the most negative post were the same people I saw come and go in like 10 min. Scary MFs should have just went to church! If you were there you would know it wasn’t that bad. People so quick to believe the worst about their people please tell me WHAT BLACK OWNED BUISNESS WAS DESTROYED?! I think they want every one to pay attention to the problems and distract us from the solution. The solution would be sending all 4 officers to life in jail or let us perform a citizens arrest. The solution would be dismantling a system designed to oppress us! Remember none of this wouldn’t have happened if they would have just arrested the 4 officers, handled the #breonnataylor #ahmaudarbery and #georgefloyd case with DIGNITY!! I’m still MAD! The value of our lives are still unseen. And if you ain’t a part of the Solution YOU ARE APART OF THE PROBLEM #blacklivesmatter This episode was us just expressing our feelings about the situation..     Do You Know Your Rights

    Join me @NailahX_ and Paralegal Eta Magambo (@kenyaz_finest) with a BA In law and civilization as they answer questions about police encounters. We decided to let everyone one know the most precedent things we can think of all in one sitting! We even dropped some jewels on how to balance your home and work life during this pandemic. There is a lot of information in this episode so feel free to reach out to us with questions or if you need clarification. Did you know ... 1. You have the right to say no if the police want to search your car without probable cause 2. You only have to tell the police your name, give your drivers license, registration and insurance anything after that you really don’t have to answer because it can and will be held against you 3. The police should only stop you if you are in the middle of committing a crime, seem like your about to or you fit the description of someone whom has committed a crime 4. Police dogs are considered sworn officers 5. You have the right to deny entry to officers if they come to your home without a search warrant signed by a JUDGE 6. Anything in plain view in your car during a traffic stop can create probable cause (always know what is in your car and clean your car out frequently) 7. If you physically assault a cop you will be charged with felony assault 8. Signing a ticket is not an admission of guilt, you can still fight it in court 9. If the officer has no reason to talk to you and they are you can ask Am I being detained? If the answer is no you are free to leave 10. Keep the things that police may ask for at the top of your glove department and WAIT UNTIL THEY ASK before going for it Immediately pull over Put your hands where they can see them Cut on the lights inside of the car so they can see if night time 11. Stay calm - it’s easier to be in control the less emotional you are; your goal is to make it home and live to tell your story 12.
