God Is Faithful to His Word: Trusting His Promise and His Process | Genesis 17:15–19 | Bishop Dr. Singleton

God Is Faithful to His Word: Trusting His Promise and His Process | Genesis 17:15–19 SHOW NOTES: In Episode 221 of Transforming Lives Bible Radio Show, Bishop Dr. Virginia Singleton teaches on “God Is Faithful to His Word,” based on Genesis 17:15–19. God promised Abraham and Sarah a son despite their advanced ages. Abraham struggled to understand how the promise would be fulfilled, but God declared that Sarah would give birth to Isaac, and His everlasting covenant would continue through him. This inspiring Bible study reminds us that God’s promises do not depend on human ability, favorable circumstances, or our understanding. When God speaks, His word is already established, even if we cannot yet see how it will come to pass. Dr. V explains the importance of waiting on God and resisting the temptation to move ahead of His plan. Abraham and Sarah’s decision involving Hagar produced Ishmael, whom God blessed, but Ishmael was not the covenant son. Isaac was the child God had chosen. Listeners are encouraged to examine whether they are following God’s instructions or pursuing their own agendas. Something may appear good and still not be part of God’s plan. Obedience positions us to receive God’s promise. The teaching also explores Abraham’s supreme test of faith in Genesis 22. After waiting many years for Isaac, Abraham was instructed to offer his promised son as a sacrifice. Though the command seemed to contradict the promise, Abraham trusted God and obeyed. God intervened and provided a ram, showing once again that He is faithful. Abraham’s willingness to offer Isaac also foreshadowed God’s offering of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, as the sacrifice for humanity. Even when circumstances seem to be falling apart, God has not forgotten what He said. He knows the destination, orders our steps, and understands the outcome from the beginning. We may not see every part of His plan, but we can trust His guidance, timing, and faithfulness. KEY TAKEAWAYS: • God is always faithful to His word. • God’s promises are not limited by age, circumstances, or human ability. • Obedience does not require knowing every detail of the journey. • We must not substitute our agenda for God’s plan. • Moving ahead of God can create unnecessary consequences. • Something can appear good without being part of God’s will. • Human promises may fail, but God never goes back on His word. • What appears to contradict the promise may be testing and strengthening our faith. • God may conceal parts of the process while working on our behalf. • We must trust God instead of relying solely on feelings, emotions, or human reasoning. • The person who feels overlooked may be the one God has chosen for a special purpose. • When God makes a promise, He already knows how it will be fulfilled. FEATURED SCRIPTURE: “And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her… and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.” — Genesis 17:16 SCRIPTURES REFERENCED: • Genesis 17:15–19 • Genesis 12:1–3 • Genesis 22:1–5 • Psalm 32:8 • Matthew 1:22–25 POWERFUL MESSAGE: The promise may already be settled in heaven, even though you must still walk through the process before it is manifested in your life. Do not let what you see, what you hear, or what you feel make you abandon what God has spoken. Remain obedient, keep walking by faith, and trust the One who knows the end from the beginning. Tune in to Episode 221 of Transforming Lives Bible Radio Show and be encouraged to trust God’s promise, submit to His process, and remember that God is faithful to His word.
