My name is Sarah Mlodzianowski. My aims for the Art Scoop Podcast are to document my exploration of Sydney's Arts Culture, Exhibitions, Events and Artists while studying the Masters of Curating and Cultural Leadership at UNSW Art and Design. In many ways, each episode forms a piece of work or chapter in my portfolio. I hope you find these conversations and explorations to be insightful and that they present you with different perspectives of Art in Sydney.

    Artist Conversation Alex Smiles

    In this episode of the Podcast I speak with Alex Smiles, a Sydney based photographer with a passion for theatre and travel. We discuss Alex’s long running passion for photography and what his projects have been focused on during isolation.     Artist Conversation Warwick Baird

    Warwick Baird is an artist and lawyer living in Bondi. In this conversation, we discuss identity in a digital age and the nuances of meeting someone for the first time and feeling like you already know them. We then move through some ideas around Warwick's legal career and explore some of the challenges we both perceive in the increasingly common ceremony of 'acknowledgement of country'. This leads us to discuss the documentary Flooded Dreams which Warwick made for television in 1997. Finally, we discuss the ideas of the dreaming mind and connection to the outdoors which inform Warwick's art practice. Photos of some of Warwick's paintings and drawings are available on his website.     Artist Conversation Wendy Yu

    Wendy Yu is a contemporary dancer and multidisciplinary artist and performer. In this conversation, we delve into ideas of choreography and performance creation, and ideas behind aleatoric choreography and composition techniques. Wendy’s upcoming performance of Charlie, Charlie is happening as part of the Sydney Fringe Festival on Thursday 26th of September 2019 at 107 Projects in Redfern.
