Milio & Nuno Dos Santos - Drift

Bandcamp: https://nunodossantos.bandcamp.com/album/drift Have you seen Enter the Void? If you have, you just found the alternative soundtrack to that wonderful trippy movie. If you haven't, you are in for a treat. Or two, if you dig this new EP by Dutch producers Milio and Nuno Dos Santos. Their Surge EP is an outer body experience in four parts. Made after subsequent visits to both their studios, where creativity was flowing freely and in all directions. The title track submerges you under water, where ominous radar sounds are accompanied by an off-beat rhythm. A solid kick never emerges but there is tension for the full five minutes. Human Space Machine decided to add a four to the floor kick drum in his remix, while maintaining the mystery of the original. Lovely and effective. Drift is proper dancefloor fodder, with its ninetees acid stabs and dreamy basslines; while closer Ekster might get the highest points when it comes to club potential. Proper machine funk with a punchy hook and a delightful break. If you like your club music a bit trippy, you cannot afford to miss out on this utterly successful Dutch collaboration. artwork by Emiel van den Dungen master by Jelle Meeuwsen

pi-c - Vorlot

Bandcamp: pi-c.bandcamp.com/album/vorlot This new adventurous SoHaSo debut Ep by Utrecht based talent pi-c, features tablas alongside delightful trip hop-like beats and pitch-bending keys. This is head music first and foremost. The dancefloor comes second. That said, tracks like Vorlot and Solros do have a particular after midnight-vibe. You can almost smell the smoke machine. Otok and closer Mono are more downbeat affairs, where Indian percussion and melancholic jazz infusions take centre stage. Pi-c revealed that he draws inspiration from Roni Horn's Nordic installation art and Marina Abramovic's relentless performances. His colourful debut certainly paints a vivid picture. artwork by Luc nagel mastering by Bram Sluiter
