Gun Violence in America: Defining the Problem
This week ABC News is exploring gun violence in America – why it’s so bad, and how we might be able to prevent it. Today, we define the problem. What exactly do we mean when we say “gun violence,” something that claims dozens of American lives every day. ABC’s Aaron Katersky investigates.
Everyone loves to play. And this summer, we’re readier than ever to have fun. After being largely cooped up for a year, Americans are starting to get back out, explore the world, and discover (or rediscover) the things that entertain us. This July 4th weekend, ABC News Radio presents “Press Play.” Host Jason Nathanson explores how we’re being entertained now – what we’re watching, what we’re listening to, and what we’re doing. Jason and the team of ABC correspondents will take you to the movies; to the nation’s newest National Park; and to concerts. They’ll play Pickleball – the fastest growing sport in the country – and introduce you to some obsessed fans.
Honor, Hope & Healing
This Memorial Day weekend, ABC News Radio once again offers a special presentation. Hosted by Aaron Katersky, “Honor, Hope and Healing” pays tribute to America’s heroes – honoring not only our fallen military personnel, but also the everyday heroes on the front lines of the pandemic, families coping with loss and others trying to heal wounds of the last year.
This year, we visit Arlington National Cemetery to explore its history and hear from those who travel there regularly to visit loved ones. We’ll also spotlight nurses from around the country who’ve worked tirelessly treating COVID-19 patients, and meet at 100 year-old Marine Corps veteran who defied the odds by making it out of the Pacific theatre alive and later surviving coronavirus. Plus, many other moving stories of hope, courage and community spirit.
