    Jan 17 22 - Find an Oasis in a desert land filled with a love that never fails. Psalm 107

    It is a really hard time to be a healthcare provider whether you're a doctor or nurse scrub tech or physical therapist. When I meant with a couple of the chaplains last week, they said they've never seen it this bad. It's time for all of us to help each other find Hope and resilience through the one who's Love never fails -- to find an oasis in the midst of the desert! How can we be creative and find new ways to create community near and around our hospitals to find New Hope New Joy new peace? Will make mistakes but let's try. We need to. It's a dim dark winter and they were colleagues who need a smile and word of encouragement and community that will bring light and strength to keep serving as the Good Samaritan wherever we are and help others to do likewise!

    22-01-01 Finding new blessings and resilience in this new year with a morning quiet time.

    Over 45 years ago, a joy-filled 89 yo Pastor shared with me the gift of joy and resilience in the life journey: meditating on God's word day and night has taught in Psalm 1 by a King named David 3000 years ago. Memorizing and reciting even out loud Psalm 1 and 23 has become a lifeline ever since. Choosing to turn our attention every morning to something very good that can bring hope and strength can then help empower the whole day and help us to grow in love and resilience.

    Mar 21 20: Resilience facing Coronavirus with hope.

    We can all take our lives and relationships for granted. The last 2 weeks facing our worlds turned upside down by coronavirus can take our baseline burnout tendencies over the edge w anxiety and loss of hope. But there indeed is hope... And supernatural help, which is in word and song...even over 3000 years now in the Psalms. Take Heart! Love and encourage your neighbor! B

    In this first episode of the CareGuard podcast, Dr. Lloyd hey interviews dr. Stephen Scheibner American airlines pilot for the 777 discuss how we can more rapidly bring aviation safety to healthcare and also help prevent burnout. We also reflect on her first tear guard meeting at the CareGuard command center here in Raleigh North Carolina with about 20 pre-med medical students ready to learn and lead change what's the proper heart set mindset and skill set.
