    Power Book II: Ghost S1E1 - The Stranger

    Lena and Kisha discuss and kinda recap Power Book II: Ghost Season 1 Episode 1 - The Stranger. This Power “spin-off” feels a lot like the original show, but brings in several new characters including attorney Davis Maclean (Method Man) and a wife of a former drug kingpin, Monet (Mary J. Blige). Tariq St. Patrick’s life is flipped upside down after the murder of his father. We follow Tariq as he tries to cope with his new life and juggle his two worlds - being a college student and the child of political hopeful and the biggest gatdamn drug dealer in New York, James “Ghost” St. Patrick. After a brief moment of hope, Tasha is still in jail awaiting her trial and protecting Tariq. We can’t wait to see how the new character stories develop and progress.     Netflix Original - Fatal Affair

    Lena & Kisha kinda discuss Netflix Original black ass movie Fatal Affair staring fine ass Nia Long and thick ass DILF Omar Epps. We spent the entire episode of this podcast trying to figure out what in the entanglement hell is going on in this movie. This movie has all the ingredients for a pretty enjoyable yet predictable story: beautiful successful woman, dry ass marriage, old friend from college with stalking tendencies, and dumb friend. VERDICT: If you enjoy basic Lifetime movies - like Lena - chances are you loved this movie. BUT if you need a little more depth to your storylines and believable acting - like Kisha - then even the fine ass black people in the cast won’t save this movie for you.     Insecure S4E10 - Lowkey Lost

    Lena & Kisha recap and discuss Insecure S4 E10 - Lowkey Lost. Baaaaaabyyyyy, there is so much to unpack here that all the likka in all the stores couldn’t have prepared us for this insurmountable pile of dirty diapers dropped on us - and LawrIssa. This BONUS episode of Insecure finds us in an alternate reality where Condolavirus proves she is not only the gift that keeps on giving, but she’s also apparently with ALL the s***s. After Lawrence and Issa find their happiness with each other and commit to a possible future together this bit...I mean, Canola Oil pops up and let’s us know that not only does Lawrence have poor dick control, he’s also not the “nice guy” husband material he portrays himself to be when he responds to her unexpected unplanned and unwanted - by Lawrence - pregnancy. Lawrence reveals the news to Issa following a night long journey to track down Tiffany after she runs away to get a break from her new mommy duties. Molly takes Drew to a work function which becomes the catalyst for them to finally discuss their struggles. TELL US: What’s next for our favorite crew?     Insecure S4E9 - Lowkey Tryin’

    Lena & Kisha recap and discuss HBO’s Insecure S4 E9 - Lowkey Tryin’. Starting back where we left off last episode Issa & Lawrence have continued to get it in over the last few weeks. They are exploring their new selves with each other and are really enjoying what they are finding - and we enjoyed watching. A meet up with fine ass Nathan has the potential to cause issues as Issa struggles with finding a way to keep things “casually friendly” between them, but Lawrence remains unbothered. Molly’s therapist unsuccessfully tries to subtly convince salt truck Molly to consider a different approach when dealing with people who have wronged her, but as usual, Molly can’t see the wrong in her ways. As Issa’s relationship with Lawrence is growing closer, Issa and Molly seem to be heading for a permanent break up thanks to Molly’s Twitter fingers sending unintended mean girl texts to the wrong person.     Insecure S4E8 - Lowkey Happy

    We don’t know where they go from here, but THIS is the episode we have ALL been waiting for - and when we say ALL, we mean Lena. When Lawrence reaches out to Issa to meet up for drinks we don’t know what to expect, but it’s all love and good vibes when they’re together. They catch up on life, talk about their career goals, dreams, and aspirations, and get closure regarding their past mistakes. In a night that never ends, LawrIssa LITERALLY walk on cloud nine. There aren’t enough words to describe the chemistry, love, and passion between these two characters - shout out to the beautiful Issa Rae and amazing Jay Ellis for the heat they bring this episode! His corny matches her corny, his swag elevates her awkward, and her beauty meets his sexy. THEY ARE THEE PERFECT TV COUPLE. By the end of the night, a more mature and all grown up Issa and Lawrence both find their happy place and we, the viewing audience, are blessed with a “happy ending.” In all the #blacklove and beauty of this episode, it’s hard to tell whether we watched an old couple fall back in love, or two people gain the closure they need to leave their past behind and truly open their hearts to new love.
