    Devour with Director/Co-Writer Scott B. Hansen

    This movie is crazy, it's wild, it's a trip for sure, but it's so much fun. This movie takes you on an adventure like no other. So make sure you have a drink in hand and pick two or three rules from the drinking game and enjoy the show. I am so glad I was able to interview Scott and get a few things answered. Stranded after a disastrous gig, an all-girl heavy metal band (The Virginia Bitches) finds a woman in danger in a town ruled by a warlock, and crawling with cannibals, vampires, and a deadly werewolf, forcing them to fight for survival. Be sure to rent/buy it now. The Devour Cocktail: Ingredients 1/2 medium apple (cored, skin on, chopped into big pieces)1/2 medium orange (rind on, sliced into big pieces, large seeds removed // plus more for garnish)3-4 Tbsp organic brown sugar (or 3 Tbsp organic cane sugar)3/4 cup orange juice (plus more to taste)1/3 cup brandy (plus more to taste)750 ml bottle dry Spanish red wine1 cup Ice to chillDirections Add apples, oranges, and sugar to a large pitcher and muddle with a muddler or wooden spoon for 45 seconds.Add orange juice and brandy and muddle again to combine for 30 seconds.Add red wine and stir to incorporate, then taste and adjust flavor as needed. I added a bit more brandy, orange juice and brown sugar. Stir to combine.Add ice and stir once more to chill. Serve as is, or with a bit more ice. Garnish with orange segments (optional).Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours, though best when fresh.     Troop Beverly Hills

    I am so glad to cover this film, especially with all the talk about a long awaited sequel. Hopefully the sequel will not disappoint. Sadly this film isn't streaming anywhere, but it is available for rent or to buy on several platforms. You could also probably get a copy on Amazon or eBay if you wanted an actual disc to watch over and over. With her marriage breaking up, Beverly Hills housewife Phyllis Nefler boosts her self-esteem by leading a local troop of Wilderness Girls. Although Phyllis' version of roughing it is spending the night at the Beverly Hills Hotel, that suits her privileged troop members just fine. Unfortunately, when Phyllis falls afoul of a rival leader, the girls are threatened with having their group dissolved -- unless they can prove their wilderness skills at the annual jamboree. Thin Mint Martini (cinemasips.com): Ingredients Chocolate SyrupCrushed Thin Mints1 oz peppermint schnapps2 oz white chocolate liqueur2 oz half-and-halfDirections To prepare glass, rim the edge in chocolate syrup, then dip in crushed thin mints. Swirl additional syrup around inside of the glass. Place in freezer for 10 minutes to chill. Mix remaining ingredients together in a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour into prepared glass.     Rum and Movie Chat with Dusty

    I went to visit Dusty for several days and before we watched a movie, I was sitting at his bar while he was behind it getting ready to try some rum from Hawaii. So I decided to just hit record and have some fun. We discussed the rum, did some movie trivia and other random things that I now don't remember. Enjoy this fun and different episode. Piña Colada: Ingredients 1 1/2 cups whole Pineapple Chunks1/4 cup Pineapple Juice2 tablespoons Cream of Coconut, from a can of full fat coconut milk3 ounces White Rum (two servings), or 4 1/2 oz (three servings)1 tablespoon Organic Cane Sugar3 cups IcePineapple for GarnishDirections In a high speed blender add the pineapple chunks, juice, coconut creme, rum, sugar and ice. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth yet still icy cold. Taste for sugar adjustment if needed.Pour into serving glasses and garnish with fresh pineapple.     Camp Nowhere

    I thought I had seen this film before, but apparently I hadn’t. It is a fun summer film that brings back 90s nostalgia and it is available to stream on Disney+, so go check it out. Morris Mud Himmel (Jonathan Jackson) spends every summer at computer camp, but he hates it. Mud and his friends (Andrew Keegan, Melody Kay, Marnette Patterson), unhappy about their respective camp prospects, devise a plan to finally have a fun summer. They bribe Dennis Van Welker (Christopher Lloyd), an ex-teacher, to pose as a counselor for a fake camp and rent a campground where the kids can run amok. But they run into trouble when their parents want to come for a visit.     Pretty Little Liars S1E1

    Its been 16 years since the show premiered and what better day to release an episode discussing the pilot episode than on the anniversary of Alison's disappearance. My cousin introduced me to this show and it immediately grabbed my attention. It is 100% a teenage girl show, but it has murder, suspense, clues, lies, sex, and so much more. I highly recommend checking it out if you haven't yet watched the series. The show also had spin offs with Revenswood, The Perfectionist, and most recently Original Sin, which is more of a slasher. It has been one year since Alison, then the queen bee of the bunch, went missing. Spencer, Aria, Hanna and Emily have gone on with their lives, though they've grown apart. Now in high school, each girl finds herself facing a new set of challenges when anonymous text messages from `A' threaten to expose all of their secrets - both old secrets the girls were sure only Alison knew, and newer secrets developed after Alison's disappearance. Who is `A' and how does he or she know the things he or she knows? `Pretty Little Liars' is based on the series of novels by Sara Shepard.     I was able to screen Sunspark during Fantasia Film Festival, it is such a cute animated short that I can’t wait for it to be released and others be able to see it. Maybe you will get lucky and see it at a film festival, so be on the lookout. While scavenging for spare parts, a lonely robot discovers someone who desperately needs his help. The Rusty Nail (liquor.com): Ingredients 1 1/2 ounces scotch3/4 ounce DrambuieDirections Add the scotch and Drambuie into a mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled.Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube.     Tight Lettuce with Harrison Houde and Dakota Daulby

    This was such a great film, so glad I was able to screen it for Fantasia Film Festival. When it is released, please check it out. It was a pleasure discussing the film with Harrison and Dakota. I can’t wait to see what else the create in the future. A son films his father's addiction, hoping to document his recovery. But as he sacrifices everything to save him, he must decide how much he'll lose for someone who may not want saving.
