Rather than avoiding pain, we consider what it means to lean into grief as a necessary and even meaningful part of being human. We also name the cultural pull toward comfort and how easily we opt out when things get difficult, even when Jesus is inviting us deeper. Ultimately, we look to Jesus as the one who meets us in our grief, offering not just teaching but his presence as we learn to trust him more.
