    Introduction to Anapana meditation

I have discussed about anapana meditation and its benefits. please find guided meditation link https://youtu.be/AECIQqVI4bs?list=PLvjRiBKPfYPxu5BHnEOeNXrkV7BjR_GNi ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Good morning everyone, Yesterday we were talking about vipassana meditation and why you should participate 10 days silent retreat. For many of you it may not possible to attend the retreat immediately. I have a solution for you in this episode. Vipassana has to be done though 2 steps. step 1 is Anapaana. Step2 is Vipassana. In these two stage anapaana is most important and very simple. Even in 10 days retreat we do anapaana for 3 days continuously. Those who are all established into anapaana can only do vipassana. Anapana meditation has following the benefit: 1. It will improve your concentration like no other meditation. 2. It will improve your awareness and alertness. 3. It will improve will power. 4. It will improve your self-confidence. List of benefit is large, but these are the benefit I experienced in my journey. Brhamarishi Patriji, founder of pyramid spiritual society of India. Claims he got enlightened only through anapana meditation. May other spiritual tradition like Zen believes anapana is enough to prepare a man to become enlightenment. Note the word prepare. Ok saravana, you are saying anapaana meditation is paramount important. How to do anapaana meditation? I have included 10 min guided meditation audio from Vipassana Research Institute. So, please play the next episode and be in meditation. Thank you all, I am Rich Spiritualist.

    Vipassana and 100% productivity

I have shared my story, how I have become 100% productive with vipassana. I also shared my vipassana experience.  To register for vipassana course https://www.dhamma.org       --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yesterday we were talking about 100 % productivity. I said work every waking hour until you win or die. Because your dreams are worth dying for. I will share my story of how I worked 16 hours a day. It was in April 2015. I finished my final semester exam of Engineering. I wanted to do masters from Indian Institute of Science, Banglore. But, I have failed in a entrance exam poorly. My score was 8%.  My mother forced me to get a job. I had an engineering degree, but I know I am incapable of doing anything. I couldn’t able to feel contentment with my knowledge. So I decided to continue my dream of higher studies. I dedicated one year to prepare for entrance exam. I know I need to cover syllabus from 6th grade because 4 years of engineering made me dump. during time I was reading books of OSHO. I have developed some interest in meditation hoping that will help to improve my productivity. I came to know About Vipassana meditation through healer Baskar. Immediately I registered through the website Dhamma.org. It was a 10 days silent mediation retreat. You need to be silent for 10days without talking anyone except Vipassana teacher. Mobile phone, books anything other than clothes and toiletries are not allowed. On the first day 2 pm I registered myself and went to my allotted room. It was a shared room for two-person. I had a very talkative roommate. He told it is not possible for him to be silent for 10 days. That statement highly irritated me. I don’t want this guy to ruin my meditation. I told that I won’t speak, I am here to be silent. He didn’t speak to me until the program end. In the end, he thanked me for pushing him to be silent. They instructed us to sit comfortably, back and neck straight and observe the breath. Just observe the natural breath. No pranayama. There will be 10 min break between 1 hour of meditation. When I was in meditation, I was feeling pain in my leg, back and shoulders. The teacher told that these pains are not physical pain though it appears like physical pain. Those are the resistance of the mind to avoid meditation. So, I continued. I followed the rules steadfastly. I was not satisfied with my progress. Because I could able to observe my breath only for 30 sec maximum, then my mind will start imagination about a beautiful girl, becoming a vipassana teacher or becoming chief minister of Tamilnadu. Initially, I named this as imagination, later I came to know that these are called thoughts. These pictures are coming to mind without my intension; therefore, it is thoughts. It will go on for a minimum 30 minutes to 50 minutes. I am effectively doing meditation for 10 minutes. I expressed my inability to the teacher. He told whatever I am doing is correct. And it is normal. The mind will always go to somewhere. It takes some time for us to realize that we have hijacked from the present moment. When we realized we have hijacked without becoming angry or frustration we have to start doing meditation. This is meditation. You fail then you start. Again, you fail and start. This will go on. That is why meditation improves resilience and persistence. Somehow, I completed 10 days of silent meditation. Initially, I thought there is no change. But I have changed completely. I was in my control 100%. I was not a one-person anymore. I become two. One is an actual person, and another is the one observing him.
