    Mental Training and Mental Bullets - Training and Competition

    Listen to the great conversation that USA Olympian Roque Santos and I had in my LIVE YouTube show about Mental Training and Mental Bullets.   Roque and I were teammates for over three years together with former world and American record holder Mike Barrowman.  Roque was not even in the map to qualify for the Olympics and what he went through training with us made him physically and mentally strong to win the 200 Breaststroke at the 1992 US Swimming Olympic Trials.  Listen to this talk that I can assure you will find it very interesting and with great inside information.   If you are a coach or a parent don't hesitate to share it to your swimmers, athletes and child.   Hope you enjoy it and if you want to watch some videos about mental training, meditation, swimming and training go to my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/sergiolopezmirocoach   Thank you!

    Talked about Current State in Training in USA  What will happen with school-training this next Fall Weight room Issues Dues to Convid-19 (July 1st, 2020 – 3:00 p.m. New York Time) Probably the last Virtual coaches talk this one we had being our 15th one.  It has been an amazing journey that I hope we keep it somehow by finding a time that we can all come together again (not every week) to keep sharing. Personally, it has been an amazing time of growth as a coach and most important as a person by listening to so many great minds and great thoughts. Thank you and just keep being open and understanding that there are over 1000 ways to get to the same place and you probably have the right formula in your mind if you trust yourself and stay the course.     Virginia Tech Swimming Planificación Temporada 2019-20 Diseño de Temporada Part-1 (24 de Junio, 2020 - 2:00 p.m. Madrid time) Hoy compartí y expliqué el diseño del plan de temporada 2019-20 para mi equipo de natación en la Universidad Virginia Tech. Explico en la presentación que así es como comenzamos la temporada, pero seguro que si analizo ahora veré muchos cambios que ocurrieron de manera dinámica durante toda la temporada. Probablemente sea una forma diferente (no mejor o peor) de hacer un plan de temporada, pero al menos una forma de organizarse y eso tiene sentido para mí y para el cuerpo técnico de Virginia Tech. El plan de esta temporada es una evolución a través de mis experiencias en los últimos 25 años de entrenador, que comenzaron de una manera muy tradicional de planificación, como aprendí en 1994 cuando obtuve mi certificación de entrenador superior en España. Espero que hayan disfrutado y, por favor, sepan que esta es la forma en que creo que los entrenadores deberían planificar. Es solo mi camino lo que tiene sentido para mí y me permite seguir evolucionando.     Virginia Tech Swimming Season Plan 2019-20 Season Design (June 24th, 2020 - 10:00 a.m. Singapore time) Today I shared and explain the design of the 2019-20 season plan for my swim team at Virginia Tech University.  I explain in the presentation this is how we started the season but for sure if I analyzed now I will see many changes that happened in a dynamic way throughout the season. It is probably a different (not better or worse) way of making a season plan but at least a way to be organized and that makes sense for me and the coaching staff at Virginia Tech. This season plan is an evolution through my experiences these past 25 years of coaching, that started in a very traditional way of planning, the way I learned in 1994 when I got my coaching certification in Spain. Hope you enjoyed and please by know means this is the way I think coaches should plan.  It is just my way that makes sense to me and allows me to keep evolving.
