Really enjoying the podcast

My family member was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and I’ve become a research robot ever since. I’m making my way through every episode of this podcast and appreciate it so much! Learning a ton about different aspects of this disease.

I’m finding these podcasts so interesting

Full disclosure, I met Dr Winter New Years Eve 2015 when he came to my hospital room to explain what had been found in my biopsy that he had “peeked in on as it was being performed”. I’ve been a fan ever since!

These podcasts bring to light the difficulties to get to the casual state(s) of the disease. But with such smart people working on this, there is such great hope for the future. I especially enjoy the pragmatism (weight loss, diabetes, etc) vs the in depth scientific knowledge discussions. Let’s hope the physicists are able to help make that breakthrough in imaging detection

This episode in particular struck a nerve with me. I’m a diabetic (told late stage type 1 onset) had elevated liver function tests and unexplained weight loss. When I next see my primary care physician I will relay your thoughts to him. He had wasted no time sending me for more diagnostic tests and as a result we caught this at an early stage.

Thank you for the time and effort both of you put into these podcasts and that of your guests. It truly does feel like a truly team effort is making progress against this disease.

The Pancreatic Cancer Podcast

It is both rare and refreshing to listen to a clinical/scientist and researcher share their innermost fears, concerns, experiences, goals and wishlist for finding more effective treatments and more focused experiments to render better results for this insidious disease.
