They discuss best practices for staying safe during this coronavirus surge, wearing masks, and where to find the most credible information.

    In this episode we discuss how some teachers spend their summers traveling around the world, how those travels impact their personal viewpoints, and ways in which they use those experiences to better educate their students. We also discuss some of the ways countries around the world are dealing with education in the Covid era and how recent social unrest isn’t just sparking change in US.

We then talk with one of Zack’s former students about racial injustice and how we all can learn and support the movement to bring about equality in America. Finally we talk with a school administrator and her perspective on how we as leaders can discuss with our students, colleagues, and communities the on-going need for societal changes. This is a MUST listen for anyone who is concerned with racial inequality and wants to learn more about how they can make a difference.

Then we talk with two music teachers, Tyler Ehrlich and Will Alvarado, about the ways music changed their lives and how they are using it to help teach their students about being a musician, building a strong community, and integrating social emotional learning.

    In this episode, we discuss Teacher Appreciation Week, share a few funny stories that happened to teachers, and dive into how we know our kids are learning (I.e. classroom assessments). This week we share two interviews we conducted. The first is with Erin Pierson who works at a school that practices expedition learning. Our second interview is with our friend Irina Shutovsky all about changes to this years AP exams.

    In this episode, we talk about what graduations might look like, share a few positive stories, and dive deeper into how the virus has increased educational inequities that were already causing major issues for students. Finally we talk with our friend, Rena about what it’s been like teaching digitally in Israel and what it was like being back in the classroom after the schools have begun opening back up.
