Christian Body Image: i checked my abs before my heart

    72. What 1 Samuel 16:7 teaches us about body image, health, and what God is actually looking at. This week, I'm sharing something a little different. Instead of showing you another healthy meal or workout, I'm inviting you into the struggle behind the salad. In this honest conversation, I share 5 Biblical Wellness Fails I made just this past week—from skipping workouts and spiraling over feeling "puffy" to judging myself in photos, checking my abs before checking my heart, and yes... even putting Doritos on my salad (don't knock it til you try it). Together, we'll explore what God is teaching us through 1 Samuel 16:7: "The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." If you've ever struggled with body image, food guilt, perfectionism, shame, or trying to be "healthy" for the wrong reasons, I hope this episode reminds you that Biblical Wellness isn't about becoming more impressive—it's about becoming more available to love God and serve others. (top 2 commandment In this episode, you'll discover: Why your health struggles might actually be revealing something deeper. How worldly wellness subtly shapes our thoughts, even as Christians. What 1 Samuel 16:7 teaches us about body image and "heart health."A simple Biblical Wellness Workout to practice this week. How to invite God into your everyday health habits without striving for perfection.Whether you're a Christian woman pursuing healthier habits, rebuilding your relationship with food, growing in your faith, or simply looking for a more Christ-centered approach to wellness, this episode will encourage you to slow down, check your heart before your body, and let God redefine what true health really looks like. This week's Core Scripture: 1 Samuel 16:7 If this episode encouraged you, I'd love for you to subscribe, leave a review, and share it with a friend who could use this reminder today.
