    100 Days Creating with God

Send us Fan Mail What if one small act of faithfulness each day could change your life? In this episode, I share the story behind a practice that first began in 2015 and has found its way back into my life again. After feeling the Lord nudge me during a recent retreat, I began a new journey: 100 Days Creating with God. For the next 100 days, I'll spend time reading Scripture, writing Scripture, journaling prayers, and creating simple watercolor paintings as a way of slowing down, listening, and making space for God. This isn't about creating perfect art. It's not about accomplishing something impressive. It's about showing up. Together we'll explore why small beginnings matter, how creativity helps us hear God's voice, the power of recording His faithfulness, and why consistent obedience often produces fruit we can't yet see. We'll also talk about the beauty of choosing a fixed season of faithfulness and how God often meets us in the ordinary moments we might otherwise overlook. Whether your creative expression looks like painting, gardening, baking, writing, photography, knitting, or simply taking a walk with God, this episode is an invitation to begin. Not perfectly. Just faithfully. In this episode you'll discover: • Why 100 days can be a powerful catalyst for spiritual growth • How creativity helps us slow down and pay attention to God's presence • The importance of recording God's faithfulness through journaling • Why small daily practices often lead to significant transformation • How God uses simple acts of obedience to grow our confidence and faith What might God do in your life if you simply showed up for 100 days? Grab your journal, your Bible, and a cup of coffee, and let's begin this journey together. Because a harvest is rarely produced in a single day. But 100 days of faithfully showing up with God just might change everything. https://stan.store/sarathurman/p/100-days-of-creating-with-god-psol9qtc

    The Battle Is the Lord's

Send us Fan Mail In this week's episode of Small Beginnings with Sara, we're talking about a truth many of us need to hear: The battle is not yours. It belongs to the Lord. Maybe you're facing a diagnosis, a strained relationship, a difficult decision, financial pressure, grief, or a situation that feels completely beyond your control. You've prayed, worried, planned, and tried to figure it all out—but what if God is inviting you to stop carrying a burden that was never yours to carry alone? Through the stories of Moses at the Red Sea and David facing Goliath, we'll discover two very different expressions of faith. Moses was told to stand still and watch God move. David was called to step forward and face the giant. One battle required waiting. The other required action. The wisdom is knowing the difference. We'll explore what it means to trust God in impossible situations, how to stop fighting in your own strength, stand on God's promises, and take the next step of obedience while leaving the outcome in His hands. If you've ever wondered whether God sees your struggle or if He's still working in the middle of your battle, this episode is for you. Key Scripture: "Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's." — 2 Chronicles 20:15 Wherever you find yourself today—standing at a Red Sea, facing a giant, or simply weary from carrying too much—I pray this conversation reminds you that God is faithful, God is present, and God is still fighting battles on behalf of His people.

    Anchored in the Storm

Send us Fan Mail This week on Small Beginnings with Sara, I’m sharing what God has been showing me through the storms. After weeks of heavy rain, flooding creeks, lightning, and strong winds here in Texas, a massive walnut tree behind our home lost several huge branches. The landscape changed overnight. The canopy opened. The birds and squirrels noticed it immediately. And standing there beneath those broken branches, I felt God whisper something so deeply to my heart: “Sometimes when the storms come, they remove what was blocking your view of Me.” In this episode, I share about the reality that storms will come in life. Grief comes. Loss comes. Disappointment comes. But the question is not if storms will come. The question is: What are we anchored to when they do? We dive into the powerful words of Habakkuk 3:17–19: “Though the fig tree does not bud… yet I will rejoice in the Lord.” Even when nothing visible looks fruitful… Even when prayers feel unanswered… Even when the fields feel empty… Yet I will rejoice. I talk about the difference between thanksgiving and praise, how thanksgiving remembers God’s faithfulness, and how praise declares who He is, regardless of our circumstances. Sometimes praise is a sacrifice. Sometimes it is worship in the middle of heartbreak. Sometimes it is thanking God before the breakthrough ever comes. This episode is a reminder that storms may change the landscape, but they never change the faithfulness of God. If you are walking through uncertainty, grief, waiting, or a hard season, I pray this episode encourages you to anchor yourself in thanksgiving and praise and reminds you that God is still steady in the middle of the storm. Love With Intention, Part 1: Feeling Seen, Heard, and Deeply Loved

Send us Fan Mail This episode is really special to me. For the first time, my husband Earl is joining me on the podcast, and we’re starting a two-part conversation about what it looks like to love your spouse with intention. I share from my heart what has made me feel the most loved in our marriage, not from a place of perfection, but from real life. The kind of love that makes you feel seen, heard, and truly known. We talk about the power of being noticed in the everyday moments, the importance of listening without trying to fix, and how consistent, thoughtful actions can completely change the way your spouse feels. I also open up about the hard moments, when I didn’t feel heard, and how we worked through it. Because every marriage will have those moments, but they don’t have to break you. They can actually make you stronger when you invite God into them. One of the biggest shifts in our marriage has been committing to pray together daily. It’s created a deeper connection than I can even fully explain, and it’s become something we truly depend on. Marriage is not about getting it all right. It’s about showing up with intention, keeping a soft heart, choosing forgiveness, and letting God shape your love over time. If you’re a husband, my prayer is that something in this episode helps you love your wife in a deeper way.  If you’re a wife, I hope you feel seen and encouraged in your own journey. This is just the beginning of the conversation, and I’m so grateful you’re here. Scripture referenced: Ephesians 5:25 1 Corinthians 13 James 1:19 Galatians 5:13
