    Anchored in the Storm

Send us Fan Mail This week on Small Beginnings with Sara, I’m sharing what God has been showing me through the storms. After weeks of heavy rain, flooding creeks, lightning, and strong winds here in Texas, a massive walnut tree behind our home lost several huge branches. The landscape changed overnight. The canopy opened. The birds and squirrels noticed it immediately. And standing there beneath those broken branches, I felt God whisper something so deeply to my heart: “Sometimes when the storms come, they remove what was blocking your view of Me.” In this episode, I share about the reality that storms will come in life. Grief comes. Loss comes. Disappointment comes. But the question is not if storms will come. The question is: What are we anchored to when they do? We dive into the powerful words of Habakkuk 3:17–19: “Though the fig tree does not bud… yet I will rejoice in the Lord.” Even when nothing visible looks fruitful… Even when prayers feel unanswered… Even when the fields feel empty… Yet I will rejoice. I talk about the difference between thanksgiving and praise, how thanksgiving remembers God’s faithfulness, and how praise declares who He is, regardless of our circumstances. Sometimes praise is a sacrifice. Sometimes it is worship in the middle of heartbreak. Sometimes it is thanking God before the breakthrough ever comes. This episode is a reminder that storms may change the landscape, but they never change the faithfulness of God. If you are walking through uncertainty, grief, waiting, or a hard season, I pray this episode encourages you to anchor yourself in thanksgiving and praise and reminds you that God is still steady in the middle of the storm. Love With Intention, Part 1: Feeling Seen, Heard, and Deeply Loved

Send us Fan Mail This episode is really special to me. For the first time, my husband Earl is joining me on the podcast, and we’re starting a two-part conversation about what it looks like to love your spouse with intention. I share from my heart what has made me feel the most loved in our marriage, not from a place of perfection, but from real life. The kind of love that makes you feel seen, heard, and truly known. We talk about the power of being noticed in the everyday moments, the importance of listening without trying to fix, and how consistent, thoughtful actions can completely change the way your spouse feels. I also open up about the hard moments, when I didn’t feel heard, and how we worked through it. Because every marriage will have those moments, but they don’t have to break you. They can actually make you stronger when you invite God into them. One of the biggest shifts in our marriage has been committing to pray together daily. It’s created a deeper connection than I can even fully explain, and it’s become something we truly depend on. Marriage is not about getting it all right. It’s about showing up with intention, keeping a soft heart, choosing forgiveness, and letting God shape your love over time. If you’re a husband, my prayer is that something in this episode helps you love your wife in a deeper way.  If you’re a wife, I hope you feel seen and encouraged in your own journey. This is just the beginning of the conversation, and I’m so grateful you’re here. Scripture referenced: Ephesians 5:25 1 Corinthians 13 James 1:19 Galatians 5:13

Less of Me, More of You

Send us Fan Mail What if the life you’ve been longing for isn’t found in doing more for yourself… but in quietly pouring yourself out for others? In this episode, I’m sharing what it really looks like to live “less of me, more of You.” Not as a lofty idea, but as a daily, practical way of walking with God. Jesus didn’t just teach service, He lived it. And I’ve found that when I follow His lead, even in the smallest acts, something shifts in my heart. The text message, the phone call, the card, the moment of stopping for someone else, it becomes more than kindness, it becomes an encounter with God. We’ll talk about how serving others pulls us out of our own thoughts, softens our hearts, and becomes one of the clearest ways we reflect His love to the world. Scriptures like Acts 20:35, Philippians 2, and Matthew 5 remind me that this kind of life isn’t about recognition, it’s about obedience… and there is so much blessing in it. I want to gently challenge you this week:  Ask God each morning, “Who needs Your love through me today?”  And then simply say yes. You might be surprised how He answers… and how He meets you right there in the middle of it. 🎙️ If this speaks to you, I’d love for you to tune in to this week’s episode of Small Beginnings with Sara. And if you’re in a season where your heart needs healing or refreshing, come join me inside one of my courses like Refreshing the Soul or Divine Creativity: Healing Through Painting.
