Go Kat, GO! The Rock-A-Billy Show! 9.30.26

33.046 Sad news in the rockin' scene this week as we mourn the unexpected passing of seminal California singer/songwriter/musician and all-around gentle giant Russell Scott at the age of 58. Russell has been the bass player for Big Sandy & The Fly-Rite Boys for the last 5 years but was primarily known for his presence in the Southern California roots rock scene since the late 1980's/early 1990's where he led his band, Russell Scott and the Red Hots, a well-received trio that perfomed rockabilly music with a smooth swing & blues style. Russell will be missed and remembered fondly by millions of fans the world over. Tonight we pay tribute with a deep selection of his brilliant recordings and an exclusive live interview with friend Axle (Alex Idzardi). Our local hot rod pal, Justin Carlton comes on air to talk up the Dead Pedal Dust Up Hot Rod & Car Show happening Friday and Saturday, October 2nd and 3rd at the Saginaw County Fairgrounds in Chesaning, MI! Loads of new rockin material to feature including Simon Langhard, Union Avenue and The Reverend Jesse Ray plus we send a huge happy 91st heavenly birthday to Jerry Lee Lewis! The BEST in classic & modern rockin' sounds on each episode of DJ Del's "Go Kat, GO!" Please follow on FaceBook, Instagram & Twitter!
