#190: The Rule That Worked For Years Just Stopped Working

For years Chris Hanna had a rule. Every time leads dipped, he could trace it back to a dip in his posting. Slow down for two or three months, and the next two or three months would be quiet. Post more, and the business came back. This year he tested that rule harder than he ever has. Three to four posts a day across every channel. Thirty to fifty pieces a week. And the leads did not come. This episode is Chris troubleshooting his own business in public, without a tidy answer at the end. In this episode: The two channels that built the business: posting daily and showing up in person, with speaking layered on topWhy he scaled back networking, and what changed in the rooms he used to get value fromWhat a heavy travel year did to his thinking about consistencyThe possibilities he is weighing: algorithm shifts, more competition, and a race to the bottom on price locallyWebsite companies now selling video, and what that says about the marketWhy the same advice is still working for his clients but not for him right nowThe 80 percent conversion tactic that stopped converting, and what he thinks changedWhy ads are not his lane, and why he refuses to hand outreach to a vendorTwo months of DMs and cold emails he hated doing, and what came of itThe honest split Chris lands on: either the rule expired, or posting was never the real mechanism and it was just correlated with something else he was doing back then. He does not know which yet. He is building a new approach and has already worked out how he will measure it. Not sharing it yet. If what used to work in your business has quietly stopped working, this one is for you. #189: The Problem With My Own Offer

All In Content has sold done-for-you services since day one. Ideas, recording, coaching, editing, captions, thumbnails, scheduling, posting. As hands-off as it gets for the business. In this episode, Chris Hanna says out loud something he has never talked about publicly: the clients who lean on that hardest are often the ones getting the least out of it. He walks into a batch session with 20 to 40 ideas prepared, hooks written, bullet points ready. Some clients take it and run with it, add their own angle, push back, make it theirs. Others just read it verbatim. No pushback, no clarification, nothing added. It looks like trust, and Chris appreciates the trust, but he thinks it hurts the business paying for it. His take: content is dramatically better when the business actually cares what it is putting out. Which means his own offer works best on the clients who refuse to fully lean on it. In this episode: What done for you actually covers at All In Content, and the one piece it can never coverWhy a client's opinion beats Chris's opinion every time, because they live in the business day to dayThe consultation where a prospect said figuring out what to talk about was Chris's jobWhat checking the box looks like from behind the camera, and why the content ends up flatWhy "I'm out there" is not a resultThe onboarding changes Chris is considering to force more collaborationWhy he is not changing the offer, just being honest about its limitsChris is not walking away from selling done for you. He is stating publicly that it has to be done with you. Next week he is getting very transparent about something in the business he thinks is broken. #188: Am I Still a Good Leader?

Chris Hanna led, hired, trained, and promoted more than 500 people across his career. He was known as a good leader. He coached other leaders for a living. So why can't he delegate a single task inside his own business? This one is honest to the point of uncomfortable. Chris walks through the pattern he has been wrestling with for months: every time he hands work to someone else, he ends up doing more work, not less. Nine people have worked with him at different points. Local, remote, virtual assistants. The same thing happened every time. The part that really got him thinking: his team member has been on vacation for two weeks, and he is more caught up and further ahead on every project than when they are there. In this episode: Why leading people inside your own business is a completely different job than leading people for someone elseThe corporate supports, processes, and buffers that made him look better at this than he might actually beWhat happens when clients recognize work you did not personally doWhy he told a client yesterday that he may not be the right person to give leadership advice anymoreThe solopreneur trap, and why going fully solo caps what he can buildWhether contractors are the answer instead of permanent team membersWhat he is seeing behind the scenes with other business owners facing the exact same problemNo resolution on this one. Chris is building in public and this is a live argument he is still having with himself. If you have wrestled with whether to hire, who to hire, or whether to just do the work yourself, this will sound familiar. More episodes like this are coming. Chris is going fully transparent about what is happening in the business right now. #187: I Checked Off a Bucket List Item and Hated Myself for It

The World Series of Poker was on Chris Hanna's list for years. He got there. He played a lot of tournaments. And he spent most of the week frustrated, tilted, and disappointed in himself. Not because of the results. Because of everything he decided before he went and then didn't do. He had a plan. Eat well. Get in shape. Sleep properly. Study more. Skip the drinking. Play a specific way. He failed every one of them, and then sat down at tables full of people who hadn't. This episode is about what that week actually taught him, which had almost nothing to do with poker. It's about the gap between the person who writes the plan and the person who has to execute it, and why that gap shows up in your business the same way it shows up at a table. In it: Why tilt is a discipline problem, not an emotion problemThe commitments he made to himself and how quickly they fell apartWhat it costs to get the opportunity you wanted and waste itHow the same pattern plays out in a business: good intentions, no system, blame the outcomeWhat accountability actually looks like when nobody is checkingIf you've ever set the plan and then watched yourself not follow it, this one is uncomfortable in a useful way. #186: The Year I Confused My Own Audience

You can build a good business and still market it into confusion. That's what Chris Hanna did for the last year. He leaned into selling low-ticket raw recording sessions. Book the room, hit record, take your files, edit it yourself. It sounded like an easy entry point. In practice, it made people unsure what All In Content specializes in; it attracted the wrong conversations, and it generated more headaches than revenue. The actual core never changed. Batch content creation, done-for-you social media management, and podcast production. Clients record with him once, and he and his team edit it, publish it, and keep them visible for months. That's the model that has worked for years, and it's the one he stopped leading with. This episode is the correction. What he pushed, why he pushed it, what it cost, and what All In Content is going back to leading with. In it: How a small pivot in what you sell rewrites what people think you doWhy the cheapest thing on your menu becomes your identity whether you like it or notThe difference between selling access and selling an outcomeWhat "done for you" has to actually mean before you charge for itWhy he's putting batch creation, social media management, and podcast production back at the frontIf your own marketing has drifted from the work you're best at, this one's worth a listen. KEY TAKEAWAYS The cheapest thing you sell becomes what people think you are.Selling access to a room is a different business than selling an outcome. Pick one.Confused prospects don't argue with you. They just don't call.Volume of interest is not the same as volume of revenue. Raw sessions generated conversations, not money.Going back to what worked is not a retreat. It's a correction. For more information about Chris Hanna, visit https://chrishanna.ca If you want to batch-record video content and have our team schedule them on social media, remember that one day of working with us will set you up for months of consistent content. #185: Why Business Owners Kill Their Podcast (And It's A Mistake)

Most business podcasts die before episode ten. Not because they failed. Because the owner quit right before it started to work. Chris Hanna has had a front-row seat to it. He produces video and podcasts for business owners, and he has watched different shows shut down.  This episode is about that mistake. Why it happens, why it is almost always wrong, and exactly what to do instead. Inside: The five real reasons owners quit, and why none of them mean the show failedWhy the full episode was never the asset, and what actually isWhat a podcast really is: a content engine, a relationship machine, and something you own instead of rentThe mistakes that kill shows early, none of which are about talent or gearWhy perfectionism kills more shows than bad content ever hasThe five-move playbook: batch, record clip-first, change your scoreboard, send yourself proof, commit to a number instead of a feelingIf you have a camera collecting dust, a show you walked away from, or you have been meaning to start and haven't, this one is for you.
