    I talk to performer, facilitator and writer Jackson Wai Chung Tse as well as Jenny Lars and KhattieQ, who together form the prolific creative duo JkJk. In 2020, the couple’s solo piece Catalina La O was winner of the Vancouver Fringe New Play Prize. The film of Catalina screened at the OUTsider Festival (February 2022) and at Ars Nova’s ANT Fest (June 2022). The live performance of Catalina premiered in June, presented by the Queer Arts Festival. jkjk’s piece always boy has received development support from New Harmony Project (2022) and the Canadian Digital Dramaturgy Initiative (2021). October 2022, jkjk co-direct Casta by Adrienne Dawes, presented by the Blanton Museum of Art and produced by Salvage Vanguard Theater. Jackson Wai Chung Tse 謝瑋聰 is an acclaimed Hong Kong-Canadian interdisciplinary artist and facilitator, creating work in writing, performance, and media. An active and playful cultivator of mindfulness, Jackson dedicates their life to building community while reclaiming spiritual connection, joy, and self-worth back from colonized ideas.     During the spring and summer of 2019, PTC Associate Veronique West and Dramaturgical Intern Kathy Feng followed a group of Chinese seniors through a season of planting, tending, and harvesting their community garden. The garden project was a collaboration between the Carnegie Seniors Program, led by Doris Chow, and the DTES Neighbourhood House Seniors program, led by Simin Sun. The audio podcast Roots and Seeds, created from interviews and found sound during the gardening season, has been released in three versions: English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
