    WSD Canada: Chloe Phalp

There are around twenty-two adult Gobi bears left in Mongolia, and only eight of them are female. Chloe, a grade seven student in Canada, uses them to ask a bigger question: if people and wildlife can coexist anywhere, why not in a desert with almost nobody in it? A century of hunting bans, feeding stations, GPS collars, concrete water troughs and habitat planting has kept the species alive without growing it, and she is unusually honest about what that means. Recorded with Brain Power Canada. Selected by World Speech Day founder Simon Gibson. This is a public episode.
