Reel Recollections

This is such a fresh take and a great idea. Episodes sometimes are too long to catch in one sitting but I very much enjoy what they have to offer. Very natural delivery and great original content! These two really are doing something special. So excited for more content!

Listening to this podcast is like chatting with your friends—comfortable, entertaining, and opinionated. Mary and Jonah bring whimsy and new perspective to these classic films we’ve all seen at least once. I almost feel like I’m in the room with them!

I love this podcast! It has everything it needs to be a great whimsical time but also educational. It truly feels like sitting around the dinner table with beloved friends or family listening to them talk about their passions. It’s a great pick me up podcast that will also teach you a lot about the movies featured in each episode. Jonah and Mary are great hosts who make you feel welcome and who you can always trust to have a fun story. This podcast is great for cheering you up after a long day.

Entertaining, funny, educational (have you heard of the multiplane camera?), everything you could ask for in a podcast! Definitely keeps me wanting more! Jonah and Mary (and Sally) do a phenomenal job of breaking down the classics. Sharing their personal "recollections" of the film, how it was originally conceived and created, and then finally, they share how it stacks up against their "jaded adult lives." Who knew a podcast could bring back so many memories--and so much nostalgia--as in their first season, they cover some of Disney's classics, such as Snow White, Cinderella, and Bambi (which I had never before seen, so I'm actually in the middle of watching it right now as I write this. Don't worry, it's paused. But I'm anticipating an alleged murder scene soon, haha.) All in all, 5/5, 10/10, would recommend.
