Send us Fan Mail EXPANSION What if the ordinary things around you are only ordinary because your brain has learned to stop looking? A tree becomes tree. A car becomes car. A bed becomes bed. Identified. Filed away. Move on. But there's so much more there. In this episode of Yup. I Got You., Tombo builds on The Moment and What Is It? with the next step: Expansion. Instead of allowing your brain to quickly label something and move on, pause and ask: What is it—to me? A tree isn't just a tree. It can be shade, shelter, food, beauty, a home, a windbreak—or, as Tombo describes a quaking aspen, “a balm for my soul.”  And that's where expansion begins. When we stop rushing to conclusions, creativity wakes up. Creativity feeds imagination. Imagination opens possibilities. Possibility leads naturally toward gratitude—and gratitude brings us back to peace.  Even the simplest experiences can become something more. Getting into a bed with clean sheets. Driving with the windows down. Smelling a freshly cut field. Listening to another person without predicting what they're about to say. These moments have always been there. We may simply have stopped experiencing them.  Expansion is an invitation to slow down and recover some of what hurry, prediction and constant stimulation have taken from us. Take The Moment.  Ask, “What is it?”  Expand the answer.  Let creativity awaken.  Allow gratitude to come.  Find the peace. And from that place, leave room for something new. Because your Best Reality Now may not be something you figure out. It may be something you finally create enough space to experience. 🎙️ YUP. I GOT YOU. Real Talk. Real Life. What is it

Send us Fan Mail What Is It? — Breaking the Brain’s Prediction Code What if one of the reasons life sometimes stops feeling fully alive is because your brain has gotten too good at predicting it? We look at a lamp and instantly decide: lamp. We look at a chair: chair. We meet someone and almost immediately decide who we think they are. Predicted. Classified. Filed away. In this follow-up to The Moment, Tombo takes the idea of pausing the brain’s constant predictions one step further with a simple new tool: Ask: “What is it?” Instead of immediately accepting the label your brain gives you, stay in the unknown for a moment. A lamp isn't only a lamp. It can be an illuminator, a light giver, a brightener. A chair can be a place of rest, conversation, meditation, comfort—and much more. The point isn't to pretend an object isn't what it is. The point is to interrupt the brain's automatic classification long enough for imagination, curiosity and possibility to return.  And then the question gets much bigger: Who am I? Who is that person in front of me? We are more than the labels our experiences have taught us to use. And the people around us are more than the quick judgments our brains make about them. When we stop assuming we already know, we create room to actually experience ourselves, other people and life again.  This episode is ultimately an invitation to get off autopilot. Don't finish somebody else's sentence.  Don't assume you already know their story.  Don't let your brain predict, classify and file away every experience before you've actually lived it. Stay curious. Stay present. Allow yourself to be surprised. Because maybe breaking the code isn't about escaping reality. Maybe it's about getting the experience of reality back. As Tombo puts it: “We demand our experiences back.”  🎙️ YUP. I GOT YOU. Real Talk. Real Life.
