Every October is defined by these colors: black, orange, browns, and PINK!  During breast cancer awareness month we can be sure to find something pink to purchase in support of breast cancer awareness.   This year you can add the fabulous, sassy and unapologetic lingerie line, FEMMESUALIDAD, by Faby.   We partnered earlier this year for an episode on body positivity and now we are at it again to talk about our breasteses.   Not only do we talk about our personal experiences with screening our body, we also talk about our close ones affected. The cherry on top is our very special guest, Monica Quintana.  A resilient mom of 2 who faced this very dark moment in her life with COURAGE, GRACE, and UNWAVERING FAITH.

On this episode, we discuss the misrepresentation and lack of representation in the media when it comes to Black Beauty.  We also go deep, we address the elephant in the room; colorism on a global scale.  With as much 'progress' as we have had.  It is important to address the beauty standards hidden in plain sight.  The years of subliminal programming to favor a certain aesthetic or 'preference' in skin tone.     Taking Action with Ferin Kidd CEO of The Black OC

    This episode is dedicated to the movement; BLACK LIVES MATTER.  Although this is not a new problem in our world, my intent is for this conversation to spark many more conversations and motivate the actions needed to bring about REAL CHANGE. George Perry Floyd Jr. (October 14, 1973 – May 25, 2020) was an African-American man who was killed by police during an arrest in Minneapolis on May 25, 2020.  Protests in response to both Floyd's death, and more broadly to police violence against other African-Americans, quickly spread across the United States and internationally. Floyd grew up in Houston, Texas. He excelled in football and played other sports throughout high school and college. At 6 ft 4 in his friends and family called him Perry, and characterized him as a "gentle giant".
