    "My friends your friends better than your friends"....or whatever Bey said lol. Unfortunately, all of us can't say this truthfully about our current friendships and HUNNY WHY NOT??? Growing up, most of us had a strong sense of structure— clean up, make good grades, or that’s your @$$. How has your upbringing played a role in your current parenting style? What similarities or differences do you notice in how you were raised vs how you are raising your kiddos...and why?     Hey Y'all!!! Well Rona's (coronavirus's) dirty tail STILL has not taken herself inside, and is also ruining men and women's livelihoods as we speak. If you haven't been affected, THANK GOD!! However, if you were to be affected by the sudden loss of your spouse's/ significant other's income, what would you do?? How long would this be acceptable in your sight? Are there specific factors that would determine the length of time that you would be able to remain in your relationship? If your spouse voluntarily left this job, would your decision be altered?     "Therapy in the Black Community"

    “Crazy”...”Throwed Off”...”Off your Rocker”...”Gone Pecan”....I mean how often have you heard those phrases thrown around to describe someone seemingly deviating from our sense of “normal”? But what really IS normal...and WHY is it taboo in communities of color regarding the stigma surrounding mental illness? There are several cultural factors that contribute to the negative attitudes and beliefs that make it difficult for individuals to seek help from a mental health professional. Today the HeauxmGirls for the first time EVER have invited a special guest speaker, Devyn Walker, Licensed Therapist and Racial Trauma Counselor, to help change the narrative of therapy and its importance in breaking mental health barriers in the black community.
