Day 30: The Reward Of Obedience

Obedience can feel risky when you’re doing what God asked and the thing you wanted still hasn’t shown up. Day 30 of 31 Days of Obedience sits right in that tension and offers a steadier kind of hope: the real reward of obedience is often the strength you gain by trusting God, even when the outcome is delayed or different than you imagined.  We read Philippians 4:13 and talk about why that verse isn’t about proving you’re capable, it’s about admitting you’re dependent. I share what these 30 days have produced in me: evidence that God meets us when we move our feet, evidence that grace sustains, and evidence that what feels impossible becomes possible when Christ is our source. We also anchor the message in Matthew 19:26, reminding ourselves that “humanly speaking” some assignments really are impossible, and that’s exactly where God’s power becomes personal.  You’ll also get reflection questions to help you spot where you obeyed while afraid, where God gave you strength you didn’t think you had, and where peace arrived after you surrendered control. Then we take it practical with a simple exercise: write down three acts of obedience and label them as Evidence Of God’s Faithfulness, so remembrance becomes fuel for future faith and follow-through.  If you’ve been craving a Christian devotional that blends Scripture, honest testimony, and a clear next step, press play. Subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review so more women of faith can find the encouragement.

    Day 29: Obedience Is Worship

Worship is not just what we sing, it’s what we obey, especially when obedience costs us comfort. On day 29 of 31 Days of Obedience, we sit with Romans 12:1-2 and the call to present our lives as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. That’s not hype, it’s discipleship for real life, and it forces an honest question: do we love God the way we say we love God, or only when it’s convenient? We talk about “reasonable service” as a response to God’s mercy, the mercy that meets us through Jesus’ cross, redemption, reconciliation, and being brought into right standing with the Father. When that truth lands, obedience stops feeling like a random rulebook and starts looking like worship. We also unpack why the phrase “living sacrifice” matters so much, because a living sacrifice can get up off the altar, and that’s why renewing the mind is essential for spiritual growth, consistency, and intentional living. Then we get practical. We name the places we tend to withhold, relationships, habits, plans, ambitions, time, health, and we use a simple image to expose our fear: the small teddy bear we cling to while God is inviting us to trust Him with more. You’ll leave with a reflection question, a surrender prayer you can pray out loud, and a gentle push to obey swiftly when the Spirit makes the next step clear. If this encouraged you, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a rating and review so more women can find the show.

Day 27: The Fruit Of Obedience

Fruit doesn’t grow because you clench your fists and try harder. Fruit grows because you stay connected. Day 27 of our 31 Days of Obedience devotional series lands in John 15:5, where Jesus makes it simple and unmistakable: He’s the vine, we’re the branches, and apart from Him we can do nothing. That truth confronts the hustle we sneak into our faith and replaces it with a better goal: abiding in Christ until love becomes the evidence. We talk through what “the fruit of obedience” really means and why obedience isn’t about proving you belong to Jesus. It’s about letting your relationship with Him produce something real in your life. We connect love, the fruit of the Spirit, and Jesus’ words in John 14:15, “If you love me, obey my commandments.” Then we hold it up next to Matthew 7’s reminder that a tree is known by its fruit, meaning our actions reveal what we’re rooted in. You’ll leave with a reflection question that gets practical fast: where is God asking you to let His love become visible through your obedience? We also pray a simple, powerful prayer for the day and name real-world examples like forgiving instead of retaliating, being patient when you feel irritated, serving without needing recognition, giving generously, listening well, apologizing, and choosing gentleness in a hard moment. If you’re craving Christian encouragement, spiritual growth, and faith-based tools for intentional living, press play and take one small step of obedience today. Subscribe, share with a friend, and leave a review so more women can grow in faith and consistency.

    Day 26: Obedience In Trials

Pressure has a way of making us question everything, especially God’s heart and our own ability to keep obeying. Today’s devotional is Day 26 of our 31 Days of Obedience journey, and we’re naming the kind of surrender most of us want to skip: obedience in trials. I’m reading Romans 5:3–5 and slowing down long enough to see what God is actually producing when life feels hard, confusing, or unfair.  We talk about endurance as obedience stretched over time, what obedience looks like when the circumstance doesn’t change, and why trials can refine our faith instead of destroying it. I also bring in Numbers 23:19 to confront a subtle struggle many of us carry: when pain, pressure, and past experiences cause us to attribute human flaws to a God who has already said He isn’t like people. God doesn’t lie. God doesn’t change His mind. And He hasn’t stopped being faithful just because life got difficult.  You’ll leave with a reflection question to journal, voice note, or talk through with a friend, plus a practical obedience step you can do today: obey what you know while you wait for what you don’t know. We’ll also practice attaching God’s character to our actions with a simple framework: “Because God is __, I will __.” If you’re longing for Christian encouragement, spiritual growth, and a steady way to follow God in hard seasons, this one is for you.  If you were inspired, empowered, or uplifted, please subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a rating and review so more women can find the podcast.

Day 25: Obeying the Prompting of Holy Spirit

Your pace might be the reason you feel unsure about God’s guidance. Today’s devotional takes us into Day 25 of 31 Days of Obedience and anchors us in Galatians 5:25, where Paul makes it plain: if we live by the Spirit, we also keep in step with the Spirit. That one line confronts a common habit for women of faith, asking the Holy Spirit to “lead” while we quietly insist on staying in control. We talk about what staying in step really demands: sensitivity to recognize the Spirit’s prompting and surrender to respond when God interrupts our plans. Sometimes the Holy Spirit sounds dramatic, but most of the time it’s simple and specific: call her, don’t say that, apologize, wait, turn that off, be quiet. We also get honest about the difference between being led and asking God to come along with what we already decided, and why surrender means we don’t pre-negotiate our yes. Discernment matters, too. Not every thought is the Holy Spirit, and the Spirit of God never leads us contrary to the Word of God. We walk through why knowing Scripture is essential for Spirit-led decision-making and how obedience becomes clearer as we learn God’s character. You’ll leave with a reflection question to journal and a practical step: 10 minutes of intentional quiet, writing down what comes to mind, testing it against Scripture, and taking one concrete step of obedience. If this encourages you, subscribe, leave a rating and review, and share it with a friend who wants to hear God clearly and live with steady faith.

    Day 24: Obedience and Identity

Obedience gets hard when you’re trying to obey from a shaky self-image. Day 24 of 31 Days of Obedience goes straight to the root: identity. I read 1 Peter 2:9 in the NLT and sit with the kind of truth that doesn’t tiptoe around our feelings, “You are a chosen people… God’s very own possession.” If you’ve been shaped by labels, roles, relationship wounds, or the pressure to perform, this is a reset for your soul and your habits.  We talk about why so many “obedience problems” are actually identity problems. Instead of forcing ourselves into better behavior, we let the Word of God teach us how to see ourselves again. When my significance comes from Christ, I don’t have to perform for people. When my security is in Christ, I don’t have to compromise to belong. When my safety is in Christ, I can obey even when obedience feels uncomfortable. This is practical Christian living, not theory, and it’s especially for women of faith who want consistency without losing tenderness.  You’ll get a reflection question to journal and a simple spiritual discipline you can use today: find it, write it, live from it. Pick one identity from 1 Peter 2:9 and turn it into a real decision before the day ends, “Because I am ___, today I will ___.” Then we pray for renewed minds, courage to be set apart, and freedom from fear. If this devotional helps you, subscribe, leave a review, and share it with a friend who needs a reminder of who she is in Christ.

Day 23: The Obedience Of Gratitude

Gratitude can feel impossible when you’re disappointed, stressed, or carrying something you never asked for, so we’re getting painfully practical about what it means to give thanks without pretending everything is fine. Day 23 of 31 Days of Obedience centers on “the obedience of gratitude” and the grounding truth of 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances. I unpack why that wording matters, how gratitude can honor what hurts, and why choosing thanks is less about personality and more about spiritual maturity. We talk about the difference between giving thanks for all things and giving thanks in all things. I’m not asking you to deny grief, minimize betrayal, or slap a smile on real pain. I’m inviting you to look for what is still true about God in the middle of it, because when we take our minds off the frustration and set our eyes on Jesus, we make room for peace that surpasses understanding. This is faith-based gratitude as a daily practice of intentional surrender, especially when your feelings are loud. You’ll leave with a reflection question you can journal, voice note, or talk through with a friend: what circumstance is making gratitude difficult right now, and what can you still genuinely thank God for in the middle of it? Then we take a concrete step with “interrupt the complaint,” plus a simple end-of-day practice of writing three specific things you’re grateful for and telling God why.
