    Celtics Offseason Is Heating Up

Celtics offseason Jaylen Brown – Giannis Trade speculation The Boston Celtics officially made a trade offer for Giannis Antetokounmpo this past week, per @BillSimmons "I think Boston's going to get Giannis, and I think it will happen in the next week." June 14 Gary Washburn – I don’t think he (Giannis) is going to be a Celtic. I think the Celtics are gauging what it would take to get Giannis to Boston and trying to figure our whether they want to move Jaylen Brown .. I do think Miami has the edge on this, but I do think Boston is kind of sniffing around. I don’t think the chances are that Giannis is coming here and I don’t think the Celtics are shipping Jaylen Brown in this deal. I  think they’re trying to figure out how to get him with out giving up Jaylen Brown. Reports – Clippers entering the chat with a 5th overall pick going to Bucks and getting Jaylen Brown as the 3rd team. Why? Brown wants out? The Celtics are not looking to pay him long term? But they would give Giannis an extension? Does Giannis make them better? Would it force Mazzula into changing the play style? Does what happened to the Spurs in the finals add even more evidence to the need for the play style to change in Boston?   Does the offseason involve a full shake up?  Mainly Derek white and Jaylen Brown out? Fill in the blank in? Are you on board with that and the long term plan to continuesly rebuild around Tatum and his contract? Should there always be a 2nd superstar? How much does the money and new ownership affect those decisions. Will we know by the draft? June 23rd and 24th. Do you give a shit about the NBA Draft? Should we? ESPN 27. Boston Celtics Meleek Thomas, PG/SG, ArkansasFreshman   After opting to stay in the draft rather than return to Arkansas, Thomas has had a positive predraft process and conducted a wide range of workouts, giving himself a variety of landing spots in the back half of the first round. His size, scoring ability and improving defense have stood out in workout settings and helped him solidify his status in the first. Boston is a team that annually casts one of the widest nets in predraft workouts and has plenty of depth on the roster, making this pick more of a luxury for them, whether that's picking a more experienced college player or developing a younger talent like Thomas without the pressure of needing to play right away. Yahoo 27. Boston Celtics Henri Veesaar, 6-11, North Carolina junior big After the Nikola Vučević experiment fell short for the Celtics, Veesaar would present a new opportunity. He is an agile big with real shooting touch, connective playmaking, and baseline skills with the ability to set screens and catch lobs. He also offers rim protection and is a locked-in help defender. In all three of his collegiate seasons, he made a massive leap in production each year. But he's 227 pounds and his lanky frame can get pushed around, plus he still hasn't fully defined his cornerstone skill. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

    Your Last Place Red Sox

Checking in on the Red Sox 27-37 5th in AL East on pace for 73-89 tying the 1992 Red Sox. Widely considered one of is not the worst era in Modern Red Sox history. Dead last in HR 2nd to last in total runs   Theo Epstein hates the nerds As the Red Sox sit in fifth place with losses in six of their last nine games, questions remain about the direction of the franchise. The Red Sox’ use of analytics is among the topics. According to The Boston Globe’s Tim Healey, the former Red Sox GM-turned adviser has concerns about the team’s approach. “Theo Epstein has been disappointed by the Sox’ intense analytical direction under [Craig]Breslow, multiple league sources said,” Healey wrote.  “I — we — try to use information to make decisions, try to make consistent decisions, disciplined decisions,” Breslow said. “If you are blindly following a model and knowing that the model is imperfect, you are going to make mistakes. “The job that I have is to synthesize all of the information sources that we have. And we want to constantly improve all of that information, including a bunch of our models.”   Roman Anthony hates the Red Sox The last time Boston Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony played an MLB game was on May 4, 2026 against the Detroit Tigers. He had to leave that game after an awkward check swing and was subsequently placed on the 10-day injured list. He is currently shut down from swinging a bat due to a lingering finger/wrist injury Red Sox President and CEO Sam Kennedy stated that Roman Anthony is dealing with a sprained ligament at the base of his right ring finger and that there was "no evidence of a tear" in initial imaging or a second opinion. However, Anthony later clarified the diagnosis directly to reporters as a "partially torn ring finger ligament" Mid May set back Late May set back No time table to return     Roman Anthony and Marcelo Mayer love Boston 9’s. Red Sox at home 10-21. Have won one series. “I just feel like, on the road we’re a very close-knit team,” said Kiner-Falefa. “We come home and there’s just a lot of people. It’s different. It’s just a different vibe at home and we’ve got to figure out a way to make it small, the way it is on the road.” “I just feel like, on the road we’re a very close-knit team,” said Kiner-Falefa. “We come home and there’s just a lot of people. [1] Connor Wong: The Red Sox have been shopping their starting catcher in trade talks, leveraging him as a potential chip to address other roster weaknesses. [1] Potential Sell-Off Pieces If Boston fails to climb out of their early-season hole, they could transition into sellers as the August deadline approaches: [1, 2] Aroldis Chapman: The All-Star closer has been lights out, drawing heavy interest as a top-tier reliever target for contenders. However, reports indicate the club is hesitant to deal the back end of their bullpen. [1, 2] Jarren Duran: Though constantly swirling in trade rumors due to Boston's outfield depth (including Roman Anthony), the front office is protective of their key assets. [1] Justin Slaten & Garrett Whitlock: The team has received calls on this bullpen duo but currently has no interest in trading them. [1]   Too little too late, toot toot.  The Red Sox have harbored an environment of losing for too long. Always looking toward the future as a way of explaining away and excusing losing in the present. Combine that with too reliant on youth, because the nerds don’t calculate character and chemistry you have the 2026 Boston Red Sox.  Unpolished potential with absolutely nobody in sight that knows what to do next.
