I enjoy the podcast’s lighthearted tone and the banter between the two hosts. While I’m still not a huge fan of the character of Dawson, I appreciate the hosts’ generous treatment of his character.
I would like if the podcast discussed more technical aspects of the show such as the music, writing, and directing. The “Daydream Believer” song is important to note in the “Stolen Kisses” episode because it’s the song that Dawson and Joey sing together as kids, so it represents the long history of their relationship. Later, when Joey and Pacey kiss, the Mary Beth Maziarz version of “Daydream Believer” swells, showing that Joey and Pacey now have their own version of the song, and thus, they are starting to make their own romantic history.
I would also appreciate if the hosts could say more about how they originally discovered Dawson’s Creek and what got them into it. As a POC (person of color) and queer fan of the show, I am curious what other POC viewers find compelling about a show that doesn’t always represent our experience. That said, I believe we can all appreciate the show regardless of our race or gender, and it’s important to see fans of all backgrounds speak about predominantly white shows, both their good and problematic qualities (I’m looking at you, Friends). I think this podcast is a great example of that. Keep up the great work!
