    A Conversation with NATHALIE BONIN

Nathalie Bonin is an award-winning Canadian violinist, composer and multidisciplinary artist from Québec, based in Los Angeles. Her career spans concert performance, film and television composition, orchestration, recording, immersive media and interdisciplinary artistic creation. Known for her expressive musical voice and cinematic sensibility, she moves fluidly between classical, contemporary, jazz, tango, world music and screen-based work. Bonin was named SOCAN Screen Composer of the Year in 2023 and received the SESAC Film Performance Award. She was a featured composer and violinist on the GRAMMY-winning project Women Warriors: The Voices of Change and has written music featured in productions including Bridgerton, The Decameron, The Oprah Conversations, New Amsterdam and Good Sam, as well as numerous Hallmark films, trailers and international media projects. Her co-composition “Criminal Tango” accompanied Niina Petrõkina’s seventh-place performance at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games. As a violinist, she has performed or recorded with Stevie Wonder, Luciano Pavarotti, Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Charles Aznavour, YES, Bran Van 3000, Moist, deadmau5, Alan Parsons, Chance the Rapper, Peter Cetera, Gino Vannelli, Salvatore Adamo, Gage, Henri Salvador, Nanette Workman, Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Éloize. She has also performed on numerous film and television soundtracks and served as concertmaster of La Voix (The Voice) in Montreal for eight seasons. Her recordings include Aspirations, recorded at Abbey Road Studios; Sacred Echoes, created with Radhika Vekaria and recorded at Synchron Stage Vienna; Taste of Light, co-composed with Simone Benyacar; and the Dolby Atmos release Stormy Skies, developed with NASA/JPL imagery and immersive visual collaborators. Building on this extensive musical and performance career, Bonin is the creator and artistic director of QOR — Quantum Organic Reality, an immersive performance platform combining live violin, original music, movement, breath, audience biometrics, spatial sound and responsive visuals. QOR extends her long-standing exploration of emotion and human connection into a participatory form in which the audience’s presence and physiological responses become part of the evolving artwork. Across concert stages, recording studios, screen productions and immersive environments, Bonin’s work is united by a desire to create emotionally resonant experiences that invite deeper listening, embodiment and connection.
