    They’re back! It's been a minute, but Bravid finally made it through the school year and are fully vaxxed. That means they are back in the studio to avoid any more ZOOM burnout. Brandon and David each issued a challenge album for the other to listen to that they, for whatever reason, would not necessarily listen to in their own musical journies. David slaps Brandon with the gauntlet of MF Doom's lyrical genius and genre-responsive Mm...Food while Brandon puts a message of The National's Trouble Will Find Me in a bottle and tosses it into the ocean of David's stubbornness. That all makes sense right? Hear David fail to be articulate at any given moment and Bradon at his most professorial, shaming David with his brilliance.

We, for some reason, challenge your favs, least favs, and hot takes, further discouraging our listeners to call in and/or have an opinion other than our own. We also discuss such eternal Christmas topics as Bing Crosby's last words, fictional (?) music, and radio relevancy in 2020. How many listeners can we lose in one mini-episode? Anyway, we love those that called in, truly, and appreciate the dedication of our listenership from around the world. This podcast has been a boon to our 2020 and we look forward to discussing the remaining 990 albums with you in future episodes.

    "I like the peace in the backseat" - Arcade Fire's "Funeral"

    What is post-emo? or evolutionary hipsterdom? Bravid praises this melancholic debut album from the brightest thing to come out of Canada since the lightbulb (look it up). This group sure does punch above its weight: arena shows, network specials, touring with Bowie, Album of the Year recipients. Operatic sounds with coming-of-age themes make this a quintessential album for the 21st century. Hear Brandon gush like Bono over "Wake Up" and "see" David dig through his music archives and fawn over the product design of the CD version-- remember those? Tune in as we break down album #953 , Arcade Fire's "Funeral".

    "What's America without greed and glamour?" - A Tribe Called Quest's "The Low End Theory"

    The Lovable Literature Teachers explore A Tribe Called Quest's anti-sophomore slump album, "The Low End Theory," in the latest episode of Late to the Party. Maybe inspired by the lyricism of Q-Tip, the duo gets abstract and grapples with the Busta problem while also celebrating Phife Dawg's rise. Needless to say, this episode is smooth like butter. #697 on the list of 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

    Remember when you didn't prepare anything for a presentation in school and maybe even forgot you had a presentation and decided you could probably wing it relying solely on personal experience and natural charisma and charm? David attempts and fails to compare Harry Nilsson to Mickey Rourke and Brandon gives a huge shout out to Bobby Keys. You know Bobby Keys, right? Don't we all know Bobby Keys? Am I the only one who doesn't know Bobby Keys?
