This sister and brother doctor duo task themselves with dismantling the kyriarchy in medicine, mental health, and society-at-large. Dr. Nia J. Heard-Garris (MD, MSc)-- a physician and researcher by day and scholar-activist by night and will not stop until structural racism is eliminated. Dr. Nevin J. Heard (PhD) has a background in clinical counseling and focuses on multicultural and social justice issues. Nevin's work centers the lived realities of folx living at the intersections of marginalized identities. These siblings have engaged in cultural commentary since they were in diapers. Flesh 'N Bold will continue those conversations coupled with data, science, and guest appearances. We will make these ivory-tower discussions digestible for the dinner table.     Strong For You: Grief N' Elderhood

    We know, we know, no one wants to talk about the end of life, death, or dying. But we are all going to die at some point, so let’s put it all out in the open.     Love @ this BIG Age: Love in Later Years

    Happy Holidays! Happy New Year! Our Flesh ‘N Bold hosts, Drs. Heard & Heard-Garris are here to help you close the year out by discussing LOVE. In this episode, the good professors talk about love for the aged, using their mom's perspective about love and her NEW relationship as a case study.     Work Hard, Prep hard: Retirement Prep--What it takes to retire.

    Our Flesh ‘N Bold hosts, Drs. Heard & Heard-Garris continue down the retirement journey with their mother. This time they hold a magnifying glass up to the the first phase of retirement–prepping/planning. Dr. Heard-Garris pushes back on her mom’s reasons and timing for retiring.     Identity 'N the Workplace and Retirement

    For many people who work, their identities are wrapped in what they do. their first lines are, "I'm a...lawyer, salesperson, therapist, teacher..." But what happens when you retire? Who are you then? Who do you become or who do you get to be? And how do you decide when and how to shed this work identity. In this episode of Flesh 'N Bold, Drs.
