Based out of Vancouver, Canada, Eikona is a collective of art and media production, united under a sacral vision of beauty and transformation. This podcast, Eikona Podcast, serves as a medium for discussions on the philosophy of our craft, the work we're up to, and our vision of what might promote beauty in culture at large. It's a podcast for all those dissatisfied folk desperate to find a community who take art seriously, with a spiritual motivation.

    Death to Self

This episode explores the idea of death of self, and enters into specific examples of that: rites of passages, stories of early monastics, and historical iconography. We're thrilled to have an important member of the Eikona team, Matthew Koropatwa, join us for the first time on the podcast as well. He tells us about his epic bike trip across Canada—from Vancouver to Toronto—and how it was a sort of monastic season of its own. | Featured on the podcast: Daniel Ketler (@djketler), Yan Tymoshenko (@yantimo), and Matthew Koropatwa (@matthewkoropatwa). | Special thanks to Caleb Heppner (@calebmheppner) for producing this podcast!

    Introduction

Our very first podcast episode, discussing our values and vision as Eikona, as well as upcoming projects we're working on and hoping to work on soon. Both of these topics are discussed with reference to the experience of beauty, and its transformative nature. | This episode features Eikona's founders, Daniel-Josiah Ketler (@djketler) and Yan Tymoshenko (@yantimo). | Written piece heard in the beginning: www.djketler.com/eikonas-cry
