I am Irene Karthik and have set out on this journey to bring out stories, perspectives from all around the globe on kindness and the humane element in us How might we spread kindness in our workplaces and communities? Is kindness too much of an ask? How do we nourish the human element and walk along with the progress? Across this journey, I speak to people of different ages, cultures, to get more perspectives and identify areas for change for the large goal of this project.

    Today’s episode is special as we conclude season 3 of the podcast. I have with me two young entrepreneurs who are making their mark in their own way. In Conversation with Divya Singhal and Navjor Kaur Thind from the Sharealittle Giving Platform. Divya Singhal is a Chartered Accountant by qualification and a social entrepreneur by choice. She began her career as an audit assistant at EY where she worked for 3 years followed by a 2.5-year stint in Equity Research at a Mumbai-based Broking House. To bring alive her compassion for humanity, she along with her friend, Trishla Pareek co-founded a non-profit crowdfunding platform called ShareALittle in November-2020. Navjot Kaur is an award-winning, LA-based filmmaker with a focus on production, screenwriting, and animation. She earned a Bachelors of Arts (Hons.) from Royal Holloway, the University of London in Media Arts, and an MFA in Film from College of Visual and Performing Arts, Syracuse University. She primarily explores the representation of minorities and young children in narrative storytelling. Her latest short film, On This Side, shows the difficulties for students from poorer backgrounds during the COVID19 pandemic and how we can help them to overcome the challenges.  Today we speak about : The story and journey of Sharealittle  Challenges in the donation ecosystem Storytelling and its Impact Pandemic Impact Focus Campaign Impacting lives with Catalysts for Social Action For their next fundraiser, ShareALittle has partnered with Catalysts for Social Action (CSA) to raise funds for providing short-term job-oriented skill training (such as Hotel Management) to young adults moving out of child-care institutions. The job opportunity post the course enables them to earn ~Rs. 8K/month apart from improved soft skills, confidence, and bargaining power. ShareALittle endeavors to raise Rs. 25,000 per student for 12 students for the advancement of their careers. Light up has been able to impact thousands of children through their SEL workshops in the underserved population in India. Juhi is a Stanford Ignite Alumni. She is also a Sahapedia UNESCO fellow and a TEDx Pune speaker. Prior to her entrepreneurship journey, she worked with Edelman India, Xander, National Program for Homeless, and TEDx.     Amelia Zachry is an upcoming author who is writing a memoir on her life. Amelia is a rape survivor. Her trauma from being ostracized and shamed led her to be diagnosed with bipolar disorder. She is a mother to two young daughters. Her story is of resilience, hope, and courage. Amelia is an immigrant based in America. Her memoir is an attempt to share the grief with those with loved ones coping with this pain, to find solace and comfort in a possibility of a life with the pain.
