Jimmy Conrad Needs a Doctor

There has been a need for a podcast like this for a long time. Jimmy and Dr. Lee are open and straightforward about the importance of mental health, and it’s especially important that a former professional athlete is having that conversation. Mental health is oftentimes swept under the rug, but the way we destigmatize it is to continually talk about it. I’ve always appreciated how candid Jimmy has been about his struggles, because that’s how real life is, even for professionals. The hosts play well off each other, the conversations are informative, and the guests are interesting and entertaining.

I find this podcast to be oddly addictive! 🙂 Many of the topics discussed, such as grit, motivation, and expectations, are relatable to one’s job/career or personal life. Jimmy and Dr. Lee have an easygoing chemistry and share interesting moments from their lives. The guest list is unique and allows the listener to hear many different perspectives. The podcast is off to a great start!

Fun format and the two play well off of each other. Dr. Hancock is someone who I have known for close to twenty years and have worked with him in a variety of settings. He is top class. Jimmy and I have lots of circles in common and he is a great compliment to what hard work can materialize. I find the show to be whatever you want it to be, it is funny, informative, poignant, and it even brings the obligatory irreverent tone needed. Much like the early days of Adam and Dr. Drew, but for the sports psych crowd. Highly recommend on all levels.

Jimmy and Lee are an enjoyable duo with interesting guests. It’s fun to feel like a fly on the wall listening to them unpack various high level sports performance topics and explore the mental side of what goes on behind the game. Highly recommend.
