FC Union Berlin side picked up a late point at home to Köln before a stunning 3-1 win away to Urs Fischer's Mainz side thus becoming the first women to coach a side to victory in the men's top 5 European leagues. The women also secured the Klassenerhalt with a huge 1-0 win away to HSV, ensuring that both sides will be playing top flight football in the final season at the Alte Försterei before it's redeveloped.     Mark, Bas, Conny, & Kyle are back for this episode of Mattuschka's Right Peg. While it wasn't quite the fairytale outcome for Marie-Louise Eta and 1. FC Union Berlin against Wolfsburg and the construct, at least in the former there was some positive signs for the men's side. The women returned from international duty with a superb fight against UWCL semi-finalists Bayern, falling to a 3-2 defeat after a late goal. We chat these games, and a conversation on the state of the Bundesliga generally. FC Union Berlin shattered the glass ceiling at 23:55 on Saturday evening announcing that u19's coach Marie-Louise Eta was to take charge of the men's side until the end of the season. Though as we discuss, the glass ceiling may have only existed outside the club as it won't be Loui's first time in charge of the side when she walks out to a roar of "FUßBALLGOTTIN" come 15:30 this Saturday. We discuss this managerial change, the fall of Steffen Baumgart and a crazy game as the women secured the Klassenerhalt with a 3-3 draw away to Wolfsburg. We talk about the worst misses we've seen as we deem Ilic's miss against HSV not to be as bad as Iwelumo, Rosenthal, and Hoffmann. We also look at the last few games for the Women, as it was announced that head coach Ailien Poese will move back to working with the academy at the end of this season. The last three games for the men take a bit of a backseat, as depressingly, friends of ours were subject to a racially motivated attack at what's supposed to be an 'union' boozer following the Dortmund game.
