    What If The Bible Is Enough

    Send us Fan Mail Your mind has to land somewhere when the world feels like it’s on fire. We start with two anchoring passages from Paul, Philippians 4:8 and Colossians 3:1–2, because anxiety, grief, financial pressure, and spiritual heaviness don’t get healed by denial. They get met with a decision: set your mind on what is true and seek what is above, even when you feel like you have no words and no strength. From that pastoral gut check, we move into the episode’s core question: is the Bible the inerrant, eternal, life-giving Word of the living God? I talk about why Scripture is not a collection of nice sayings or a Christian self-help manual, and why the church gets into trouble when online influence replaces biblical authority. We also get specific about how “another gospel” spreads, why Galatians warns us so sharply, and why every “God said” claim must be tested against Scripture. Then we dig into Jesus’ own words in Matthew 5:18, the sufficiency of Scripture, and the common claim that the Bible is outdated.     Stop Looking For Loopholes In Grace

    Send us Fan Mail If right and wrong can flip with every generation, what are we supposed to build our lives on? We start with a blunt question about morality and quickly land in Matthew 5:17, where Jesus draws a line in the sand: He does not tear down the law and the prophets, He fulfills them. That single sentence forces a bigger conversation about where our moral standards come from, why the Old Testament is not optional background reading, and how pulling Jesus out of Scripture’s larger story leaves us with a faith shaped by trends instead of truth. We also get honest about the way religious people can twist God’s good commands into heavy burdens. Jesus is not handing out brand-new rules in the Sermon on the Mount; He is correcting the interpretation, exposing how the law reaches into the heart, and dismantling a loophole mindset. Grace is real, salvation is by grace through faith, and the cross really does cover sin, but we refuse “cheap grace” that pretends choices do not matter. A changed life is not powered by guilt fueled behavior modification; it flows from a new heart and a clearer view of who Jesus is. Then we lean into what “fulfill” means by looking at messianic prophecy and the staggering improbability of one person fulfilling even a small set of those predictions. If Jesus is truly the promised Messiah, “good moral teacher” is not a big enough category.     You Cannot Follow Jesus In Private

    Send us Fan Mail Should Christians post the good they do or keep it quiet? That question sounds like a social media debate, but it quickly turns into a deeper challenge: Jesus says we are the light of the world, and a lamp doesn’t get turned on just to be covered. We talk through Matthew 5:14–16 and why “private faith” isn’t a category Scripture celebrates when the whole point is that people see our good works and give glory to our Father in heaven.  We also tackle the fear behind hiding. Sometimes it’s shame. Sometimes it’s wanting to avoid awkward conversations. Sometimes it’s confusion about Matthew 6:3 and the warning against showing off. We draw a hard line between seeking attention and shining with the right motive. The issue isn’t visibility, it’s what kingdom we’re trying to build. If our faith never shows up in our words, our schedule, our relationships, or our service, we have to ask what fruit we’re actually producing.  From there we get concrete: why we do outreach events, why community service matters, and why discipleship is more than content. We use vivid pictures like shrimping lights, the “Mahi effect,” and Moses wearing a veil to expose how often we cover up what God is doing because it might make people uncomfortable.     Be Salty

    Send us Fan Mail Jesus doesn’t start with a to-do list. He starts with a name. After the Beatitudes, Matthew 5:13 hits with a direct identity statement: “You are the salt of the earth.” We wrestle with what Jesus actually means, why so many popular interpretations miss the point, and why the real issue in the text is usefulness. Salt that never touches anything can’t preserve anything, and salt that gets mixed into compromise stops acting like salt. We dig into the first-century context where salt was valuable, sometimes used in payment and covenant language, and most importantly used to preserve food in a world without refrigeration. That historical lens turns the metaphor into a challenge for Christian living today: are we reducing rot in our homes, friendships, workplaces, and city, or are we just sitting safely on the table? We talk about the temptation to retreat, Jesus’ prayer in John 17 to keep His people in the world, and the call to engage with courage and wisdom rather than fear. Then we get practical with a simple framework you can try immediately: daily, weekly, and monthly ways to “be salt” through prayer, encouragement, conversations, generosity, time, and service.     Stop Feeding The Trolls And Start Sharing Jesus

    Send us Fan Mail Somebody in the Bible probably inspires you. Peter’s boldness. Paul’s mind. Elijah’s fire. But here’s the question we don’t like asking: would we trade places with them, including the cost that came with their faith? We start with Matthew 5:11-12, where Jesus says you’re blessed when you’re reviled, persecuted, and lied about on his account, and we get honest about why that feels backwards. We also draw a bright line between suffering for Jesus and suffering because we’re being rude. The Beatitudes shape our posture first: humility, repentance, mercy, then opposition. From there we talk about what “reviled” really means, why words hurt, and why social media makes slander feel unavoidable. Even Jesus was labeled a glutton, a drunkard, crazy, and even demonic, not because he did wrong, but because he went where the lost were and refused to play by religious optics. Then we lean into the command that changes everything: rejoice and be glad. Not as a mood, but as a choice. Paul proves it from prison, where “to live is Christ and to die is gain” makes him impossible to threaten. We remember the long history of martyrs and persecuted believers, and we bring it back to everyday life in the United States: the world usually leaves you alone until you open your mouth.     Happy Are The Persecuted

    Send us Fan Mail “Blessed are those who are persecuted” is one of the most uncomfortable lines Jesus ever preached, because it forces a question most of us avoid: if our faith never creates friction, are we actually living the Beatitudes at all? We walk through Matthew 5:10 and define persecution the way Scripture does, not as drama we create, but as real pushback that comes when you live for righteousness and the kingdom of heaven. We also zoom out to the bigger reason it happens. There are two competing kingdoms, and they do not blend. The world teaches top-down power, self-first living, and happiness through comfort and possessions. Jesus teaches an upside down kingdom where power looks like serving, treasure is stored in heaven, and you cannot serve two masters. Along the way we hit hard passages from 2 Timothy, 1 Peter, 2 Corinthians, John 15, and James 4 that make suffering, trials, and rejection part of normal Christian discipleship, not an exception. Then we get practical. Persecution can mean losing influence, losing friends, missing promotions, or being treated like you’re “too much” the moment you say, “But Jesus.” We talk about why trying to make the gospel more palatable empties it of its force, and why bold faith doesn’t mean being obnoxious, it means being faithful.     What If Peacemaking Costs Your Comfort

    Send us Fan Mail “Blessed are the peacemakers” sounds simple until you realize peacemaking is not passive and it is definitely not the same thing as avoiding conflict. We start with a gut-check question: are you the person who calms the room, or the person who quietly fuels the fire? Then we dig into Matthew 5:9 and what “peacemaker” actually means: someone who makes peace on purpose, with action, not denial. From there we get painfully practical. We talk about why buried issues don’t disappear, they compound, and why conflict avoidance in marriage, family, and friendships often creates bigger explosions later. Real peace takes courage, but it also takes restraint. Peacemaking is not bullying or winning arguments. It’s loving people enough to step into the tension, tell the truth, and work toward reconciliation. We also zoom out to the bigger story of Scripture: sin creates conflict everywhere, and Jesus is the ultimate peacemaker because he left comfort to enter our mess and bring peace through the cross. That’s why truth matters so much. If we keep trading truth for lies, we lose peace, inside ourselves and with each other.     Pure In Heart

    Send us Fan Mail “Blessed are the pure in heart” can feel like a crushing standard if we read it as “blessed are the flawless.” We go straight at that tension by slowing down in Matthew 5:8 and asking what the Bible actually means by “heart” and what Jesus is really promising when He says the pure in heart will see God. We talk about motives and intent, not just outward behavior. The why behind what we do matters, because words, choices, and even our patterns of sin flow from an inner place we don’t fully control. That’s why David is such a disruptive example: his story is messy and painful, yet God still calls him a man after His own heart. We connect David’s Psalms, Romans 7’s inner war, and Romans 8’s reminder that there is no condemnation for those in Christ, so we can fight sin without drowning in shame. From there, we get practical about what it means to “see God.” We explore James 4:8 and Jeremiah 29:13, the way idols sneak in when we want something tangible, and the honest question underneath so many prayers: “God, I just want to feel You.” We end with a simple challenge to reshape your desire and your schedule: spend 30 minutes a day seeking Jesus, using real tools that fit your season of life.
