    Especially Heinous ft. Ben Roswell

This week, on the season finale of Dead Letter Society, Marn and fellow writer Ben Roswell commune in the Library of Terrors to talk about Carmen Maria Machado's novella Especially Heinous: 272 Views of Law & Order SVU. Topics of discussion include: ghosts, doppelgangers, desensitization to violence via crime dramas, horrible interns, roasted vegetables, and the secret heartbeat underneath New York City. This is an episode that gets into some fairly heavy topics, and we do (as per usual) cover content warnings at the top of the show. Please tread with caution and be kind to yourself while listening! You can find Marn on Twitter at @corpserevivers, Ben at @roswellwrites, and the podcast @deadletterpod. You should also check out Ben's tabletop games on his itch.io! The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals ft. Andrew Sherman

This week on a very special Halloween episode, Marn and her ARGonauts co-host Andrew were SUPPOSED to talk about a book, but they got a little sidetracked. Topics of discussion include: musicals, and the guys who don't like them. You can watch The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals for free on Starkid's Youtube channel! You can find Marn on Twitter at @corpserevivers, Andrew at @CohostSherms, and the podcast @deadletterpod. You should also check out Andrew's excellent comedy podcast, The Podcast Mines! Halfway, To The Lamppost ft. Ty Galiz-Rowe

This week, Marn and fellow Orange Groves host Ty commune in the Library of Terrors to talk about Kaitlin Tremblay's Twine game Halfway, To The Lamppost. Topics of discussion include: why interactive fiction makes for great horror, too much scary information vs. just enough, creepypasta curation, book clubs within book clubs, and of course, f****d up guys who look at you. You can find Marn on Twitter at @corpserevivers, Ty at @ty_grrrrrrrr, and the podcast @deadletterpod. You should also check out Ty's work over on Uppercut! Horrorstör ft. Danny

This week, Marn and fellow internet author/ghost fan Danny sit down to scream about Grady Hendrix's Horrorstör, a horror "comedy" about ORSK, a store that definitely isn't IKEA but definitely is haunted by the ghosts of tormented prisoners. Topics of discussion include: how we use horror as a framework to talk about capitalism, why IKEA specifically is scary, good graphic design, Pride 2: The Sequel to Pride, and being scared of the dark. You can find Marn on Twitter at @corpserevivers, Danny at @GHOSTZVNE, and the podcast @deadletterpod. You should also check out Danny's writing on his Itch.io page! The Hunger ft. Calhoun Crimin

This week, fantasy web serial author Calhoun Crimin joins Marn to talk about Alma Katsu's The Hunger, a historical fiction novel that tells the story of the Donner Party with a supernatural twist added on top. Topics of discussion include: fact vs. fiction, why Marn is afraid of hypothermia, the Oregon Trail, getting lost in the tall grass, and (of course) cannibalism. More seriously, we spend most of this episode talking about cannibalism and starvation, and the effect it had on the survivors of the Donner Party. This is not the most feel-good episode of Dead Letter Society, and it is one you may want to skip if the human body's ability to do wild and messed up things in traumatic situations is not something you like to think about. You can find Marn on Twitter at @corpserevivers, Cal at @paladinpals, and the podcast @deadletterpod. You should also check out Cal's fantasy detective web serial, Quoria! Wilder Girls ft. Theo of LGBTimeMachine

Host of LGBTimeMachine Theo joins Marn in the library this week to talk about Rory Power's Wilder Girls, a Young Adult horror novel about an all-girls' boarding school on an isolated island, where things can only go extremely well when a strange endemic breaks out and the Navy comes a-callin'. Topics of discussion include: how Wilder Girls handles its LGBTQ characters, how it DOESN'T handle character development, sneaky exposition, gross parasites, and why we need more YA horror in our lives. You can find Marn on Twitter at @corpserevivers, Theo at @FairyPrinceTheo, and the podcast @deadletterpod. You should also check out Theo's writing on their itch.io page! Stephen King's IT ft. Alyssa K.

Marn brings her girlfriend and frequent collaborator Alyssa on to discuss Stephen King's 1000-page monster of a novel, the many things that have already been said about it, and why they still find value in it despite all the mess. Topics of discussion include: queer readings of the text, bad dads, clowns with guns, repeating cycles of trauma, Jewish horror, fun narrative tricks, and why the new movies get it all so wrong. You can find Marn on Twitter at @corpserevivers, Alyssa at @imajoyk, and the podcast @deadletterpod. You should also check out Alyssa's queer book review blog, Reading While Queer!
