    004. CELEBRATING NATIONAL NURSES DAY

    Join us as we celebrate National Nurses Day (all month long) and all of the incredible healthcare workers that care for our communities each and every day. On this episode we are joined by Melynda Iles, HealthSource of Ohio's Director of Care Management, and one of our many dedicated and skilled health care professionals. Melynda is a Registered Nurse, a mom, a dog mom, a team leader, a wife, and somehow still finds time to care for for herself and everyone around her. We discuss her road to becoming an RN, the many hats she's worn here at HSO, and the incredible care her and her team provide to patients as they navigate their own journeys. The care her team provides can truly be described as "MORE THAN MEDICINE."     002. MARKETPLACE-SPECIAL ENROLLMENT PERIOD

    On this episode of HealthSource of Ohio's More Than Medicine Podcast, we're joined by HSO's Director of Outreach, Becky McMullen. Becky discusses the current Marketplace Special Enrollment Period and how her team can assist consumers as they navigate the Marketplace.   Please note that there have been some changes since our original recording: The current administration is extending access to the Special Enrollment Period until August 15th.  “Every American deserves access to quality, affordable health care – especially as we fight back against the COVID-19 pandemic,” said HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra. “Through this Special Enrollment Period... the American have the chance they need to find an affordable health care plan that works for them. The American Rescue Plan will bring costs down for millions of Americans, and I encourage consumers to visit HealthCare.gov and sign up for a plan before August 15.” As a result of the American Rescue Plan, additional savings will be available for consumers through HealthCare.gov starting April 1. These savings will decrease premiums for many.  On average, one out of four enrollees on HeathCare.gov will be able to upgrade to a higher plan category that offers better out of pocket costs at the same or lower premium compared to what they’re paying today.
