Drex and Alisa welcome Aizlyn Denton and Ben Blanton, two of the featured performers in the Lyric’s upcoming production of Puffs. Even though rehearsals are only a few days in, they share their first impressions of the magical mayhem, what it’s been like stepping into some of the show’s biggest roles, and what they’re most excited to discover as rehearsals continue. They also reflect on the hard work that recently helped them advance to the Texas UIL State competition in high school and how that experience has prepared them for the adventure ahead. It’s a fun, early look at a production that’s already full of laughs, heart, and plenty of wizarding mischief E.T. Puffs is the hilarious parody that flips the story you know on its head—told from the point of view of the loyal, awkward, and under appreciated house that never seems to win the glory. Follow seven years in the lives of the “Puffs,” a group of well-meaning misfits who just want to make it through magic school without getting caught in someone else’s epic adventure. Filled with laugh-out-loud humor, heart, and a few spells gone wrong, Puffs is a fast-paced comedy for anyone who’s ever felt like a side character—but still believes in friendship, bravery, and finding your place in the story.
