Evidence and Argument in Communication Sciences and Disorders

I haven't listened to all the episodes yet but it seems like something worthwhile to spend digesting. Sad to see it go (is it really over?) but the fact that the last episode wasn't like a nice wrapped up "goodbye" and more like a Dr. Humbert mic drop makes it very raw and I respect that all the same. I had followed what was stirring through social media and I think Dr Humbert does a great job of expressing her frustrations respectfully and unapologetically. I'm glad there's somewhat of archive to return to.

I know of Dr. Humbert from her other podcast (Down the Hatch) and Dr. Harold from The Informed SLP, so I was excited to see that they had come together for their own podcast, and, so far, it has not disappointed! I’ve binged the first 3 episodes where they have very fluid, open conversations about EBP in speech (and audiology, but mostly speech). I have to admit- I went into this podcast thinking it may be a bit of a downer, with them perhaps highlighting the ways in which SLPs fall short when it comes to EBP, and while this may have been accurate, Drs. Humbert and Harold did it in such a way that actually made me feel- what’s the word I’m looking for- hopeful- which was unexpected, but welcome. Anyway, I highly recommend, unless you don’t like hearing that you don’t know everything and we as a field don’t know anything.

I really appreciate this and have been an avid consumer of Dr. Harold’s content for years now. This information is critical to us being not only being the best clinicians possible, but effective science communicators with our colleagues, clients, supervisors, and the public. Can’t wait for more!
