This honest and important podcast shines a light on the talented Lauren Esposito. Lauren is an Aussie actress and personal trainer based out of LA. Through this journey Lauren discovered her love of fitness, and the importance of helping men and women with positive body image. The Power of Mindset

Mindset by clear definition is the established set of attitudes held by someone. As artists we sometimes underestimate the power of mindset. Yet mindset is a superpower for most individuals if we choose to shape it in a positive manner. It can, by the same token, be your kryptonite. The choice is ultimately ours. No one is capeable of getting inside our minds or our heart unless we allow them to. We are capable of being anyone we choose to be and having the mindset we choose to adopt. If mindset is just an attitude, aren't we capable of choosing those attitudes that serve us? Rather than those that limit our potential or our capacity to grow and learn in all the areas life has to offer. These are simple words yes, but in order for these beliefs to be true it requires effort, focus and determination. For at any one time there are a number of fixed mindsets that limit us from reaching our true potential. Ask yourself if any of these are true? 1. Either I'm Good at Something, or I'm Not - A limiting belief driven by fear. We can't ever become good at something if we don't try. We can always become improve if we are open to learn, practise and implement. 2. I Can't Learn Now; It's Too Late - This is a generational point of view for certain. For it's never to late to learn. Human beings can learn something new each day until the day they die. It's looking at it from a point of view to want or to need or to choose to learn something new. That is the key. 3. There's No Point in Trying if I'm Going to Fail - Failure is success! I wished I leant this a long time ago. For it's the fear of failure or success that becomes crippling. As we face our fears, we help discover our strength and determination. We learn from these experiences and this is what creates a successful person. The ability to get up and go again no matter how many times one fails. 4. I Take Feedback as a Personal Attack - Sadly many people don't always provide constructive feedback. In fact many criticise or critique in order to build themselves up and fuel their own insecurities. By the very same token, what you may be perceiving as harmful could actually be quite helpful. Feedback, even when its vitriol, is not specifically about you. Though it may feel that way. If we can separate words from intentions and focus on what is useful to us we can find value in every piece of feedback we receive. The choice is ours again in how we react. 5. I Always Struggle With... - This thought is summed up by the famous words of Descartes: I think, therefore I am. A self-affirming belief that cuts ourselves off from our brains understanding why we struggle, and there-for limiting our understanding of how we may be able to improve or do better. Struggle always requires effort, however effort, when used positively, is a motivating and powerful force. Mind over matter. 6. I Feel Threatened/Intimidated by the Success of Others - The Tall Poppy Syndrome at its finest. Why are we so determined to be put out by the prosperity of others? If anything, we should be celebrating and supporting one another. These are the driving forces that fuel us and motivate us to believe anything is possible. When we see others succeed, it shows us we are capable of achieving and provides us a model in which to build upon. That is when energy and flow are most powerful. 7. I Can't Make This Any Better; It is What it is - We can always improve or better our views. This mindset is accepting things as the way that they are and there's no room for change. If this were true, life wouldn't change as it does. Ask yourselves what can I do better? How can I carry this forward? What can I improve on? Do not accept things as they are, for nothing will ever be what we dream it to be if we allow this mindset to stick. 8. My Current Abilities Are the Measure of My Outcomes - This mindset is again a notion of fixed intelligence. People spend years researching the brain, how it works, and understanding how muc...

    Respect! Respect! Respect!

RESPECT by definition means a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements. RESPECT by definition also means to have due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others. RESPECT is earned and cannot be demanded. If these are true, why isn't everyone treated with respect? Why is it that many people in our society fail to show respect where it has been earned? Better yet why do so many of us fail to show ourselves respect? Knowing that we have the power to make change in the world, many of us allow patterns of behaviour to exist around us and within us, within our relationships and within society. We are often afraid to stand up and voice out-loud the disrespectful scenes that play out in front of us due to our own fears or contempt. This is especially true of the way we see ourselves in life and the work we are willing to do to change and become the best versions of ourselves. Yet if we know inherently that someone or something is not respecting our wishes, feelings, rights, achievements, abilities, qualities and/or traditions; why do we sit by and continue to allow it? More importantly if we witness this action against others, why do we not we not step up? Why is it harder for us to step up? As human beings we are all have abilities. We all have feelings and follow traditions (whether we agree on others or not) and we all have wishes and strive to achieve. If this is the preface of what respect is, then everyone is in a position to have earned it. If according to this definition, who you are does not harm or hurt any other human being, then respect should be guaranteed and given to us all equally. Not questioned or debated. Not ignored or treated with contempt. For its not that we have different views or traditions that is the issue, it's the fact we don't respect each others. It's not the fact we feel things differently, it's that we don't respect each others feelings. It's not the fact that we don't have the ability to respect ourselves, it's the fact that when faced with uncomfortable situations create din fear, we opt to ignore our own feelings or what is right. Not breaking the pattern that stands before us. And it's not the fact that we don't have rights, it's the fact that all our rights are not equal. I challenge you to look at respect in your own world today. Do you respect those around you? More importantly do you respect yourself?

Artistry & Activism with Tatiana Lee

In the deep podcast we discuss the importance of activism as artists and meet the talented award-winning actress, international model, and Hollywood influencer Tatiana Lee. Tatiana serves as a Hollywood Inclusionist at RespectAbility, a non-profit organization whose mission is to fight stigmas and advance opportunities for people with disabilities. Media and Social Media play a vital role in the influence upon societal values and peoples fixed beliefs. Whether it's people with disabilities, people of colour, people in the LGBTIQ Communities, gender roles, agesim, body image or self worth. Much of our views on the roles of artists come down to unrealistic expectations and stigmas that the media not only continue to enforce but as we've learned in these strange new times, often exasperate. Whilst its never easy to have these conversations, we must open our hearts and minds to the experiences of others because only then will we truly understand the importance of empathy. It is only when the world can find itself without conversation about these issues we know the change has been created. Tatiana is a passionate woman, that has a drive unlike no other. Listening to her I not only have the power to learn more about myself, I learn more about those in the world that fight battles I could never even imagine. Being a true artists is more than just the glitz and glamour, its about creating space for people to be seen and heard. This woman is loud and proud, and it's impossible not to be inspired by her.

Victim or Vulnerability - The Choice Is Yours

In this podcast we look at the Victim Mentality Vs Vulnerability. Why neither is a sign of weakness, however one allows space for us to step into power whilst the other allows power to be taken away. Many of us share in the victim mentality and don’t realize it. Especially when it comes to blame or defensiveness; or even just wanting to hide and not put yourself out there or out of your comfort zone. We have a pattern in our thinking that it's far easier to believe if things don't work out for us, career, relationships, self esteem, it's someone else's fault? It's easier to believe we don't have a choice in how we respond to the things that happen to us. But...what if this mentality gives all your power away and lets us become the victim? Vulnerability on the other hand is knowing you are enough. When you can believe that no matter what emotion comes up in any situation you may face, that is where your strength and power lies. It's choosing to release our instincts to fight or defend, and surrender to the idea that people can have any opinion they want of us, because we know our own self worth and whats true for us, and we are responsible for our own emotions. We choose to step into a place of power rather than giving it away. Open to listening to others with the intent to understand and embracing our fears or limiting beliefs. This is how we discover who we really are and why we are the way we are. That’s where vulnerability will overcome the victim mentality and we step into our power.
