Wisdom from the Rishis ( Arsha Vidya Deepam )

Swami Nijatriptananda Saraswati

One has to recognize the self being already free from the limitations imposed on it. Timewise, spacewise or objectwise limitations are due to self ignorance. To know oneself is the real pursuit in life. All other pursuits are just an expression of this basic search for freedom from unhappiness. Only self-knowledge will help and the means of knowledge is Vedanta and the Guru who unfolds it. With Pranams to Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati Maharaj the ArshaVidya the wisdom of the Rishis flows here like the flow of Ma Ganga from the Himalayas to reach the sagara. This wisdom is fulfillment of life.

    Karmayoga

The yoga of attitudes, Bhahavan Sri Krishna gave the vision of karmayoga to Arjuna because a prepared mind can get the knowledge and method of preparing the mind requires yoga buddhi to live a life of karmayoga. Bringing an attitudinal change is impossible without understanding,so let use try to see what it is all about. The central idea is beautiful: Karma-yoga is both a way of living and a means of preparing the mind for Self-knowledge. The attitudinal change it requires cannot be sustained by mere instruction; it must arise from understanding. The Yoga of Attitudes — Karma-yoga Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa unfolded the vision of Karma-yoga to Arjuna because a prepared mind is receptive to Self-knowledge. And preparing the mind requires a change in attitude—a shift in how we understand and respond to life. Karma-yoga is not merely about what we do, but the attitude with which we act. Through *yoga-buddhi*, we learn to act with responsibility, offer our actions to Īśvara, and receive their results with *prasāda-buddhi*. But an attitudinal change cannot be sustained by mere instruction; it must come from understanding. So, let us explore what Karma-yoga really means, how it works, and how we can live it in our everyday lives. **The purpose is not merely to change our actions, but to cultivate a mind that is ready to understand the truth of ourselves.** ॐ तत् सत् 🙏 A subtle but important point from the Bhagavad Gītā: Karma-yoga does not itself produce mokṣa; it prepares the mind for the knowledge that removes self-ignorance. #Vedanta #AdvaitaVedanta #VedantaWisdom #SelfKnowledge #AtmaJnanam #BrahmaVidya #JnanaYoga #SpiritualWisdom #SelfInquiry #Moksha # Self acceptance # vision of Bhagavad Gita # Upanishads

    Vedānta — in a nutshell

Vedānta is not a philosophy that changes your life; it is a vision that corrects your understanding of yourself. I am not a limited individual trying to complete myself through the world. I am the complete, limitless Awareness in whose presence the individual, the world, and Īśvara are known. In a little more detail: 1. What is the problem? — Ignorance (अविद्या) I take myself to be the body–mind–person and therefore experience myself as limited, incomplete and dependent. 2. What does Vedānta do? — It gives a means of knowledge (प्रमाण) The Upaniṣads, unfolded by a competent teacher, reveal what cannot be discovered merely by experience: तत्त्वमसि — तत् त्वम् असि You are That. 3. What is discovered? — I am Brahman अहं ब्रह्मास्मि I am Brahman—the limitless reality. This is not becoming Brahman. I was never anything other than Brahman. The discovery is only the removal of the mistaken identification. 4. What about the world? — Mithyā (मिथ्या) The world is not dismissed as nonexistent. It is dependent reality—dependent upon Brahman, just as a wave is dependent upon water. 5. What happens to life? — The circumstances need not change. The vision changes. Pleasure and pain, gain and loss, success and failure continue to belong to the changing order. But their capacity to define me is understood differently. So, in one sentence: Vedānta is the knowledge that I am the limitless Self, and that the entire universe of changing names and forms is mithyā, dependent on that Self. Or, even more compactly: “Nothing has to become different; I have to see what is already true.” #Vedanta #AdvaitaVedanta #VedantaWisdom #SelfKnowledge #AtmaJnanam #BrahmaVidya #JnanaYoga #SpiritualWisdom #SelfInquiry #Moksha # Self acceptance # vosion of Bhagavad Gita # Upanishads
