    Vikings Postgame Report: The Minnesota Vikings Defeat the Green Bay Packers 39-22 In Week 1 At U.S. Bank Stadium - WK 1

    Welcome back to the Vikings Postgame Report. The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Green Bay Packers 39-22 on Sunday afternoon.  Quarterback Kyler Murray opened the game for the Vikings but suffered an injury in the 1st quarter and quarterback Carson Wentz stepped in for the rest of the contest. The Vikings found themselves down 22-10 into the 3rd quarter, but that is when they went to work. The Vikings scored the final 29 points of the game, including rushing touchdowns by running backs Jordan Mason and Aaron Jones Sr. and receiving touchdowns by TE T.J. Hockenson and WR Justin Jefferson. Carson finished the game 12-of-19 for 133 yards passing and 3 touchdowns. Running back Jordan Mason led the team with 59 yards on the ground, including his 1 yd TD rush after a fumble recovery by LB Andrew Van Ginkel.  Wide receiver Justin Jefferson led the team with 8 receptions for 92 yards and 2 touchdowns on the day.  Justin tied wide receiver Randy Moss for #2 all time in receptions by a Viking receiver with 587 in his career. Kicker Will Reichard was perfect on the day with 1 field goal and 4 extra points converted. Defensively, the squad buckled down in the second half and forced some critical turnovers and stops that got the ball back to the offense which led to points.  The team notched 4 sacks on the day, including DL Levi Drake Rodriguez, Edge Dallas Turner, .5 sack by LB Blake Cashman, and 1.5 sacks by LB Andrew Van Ginkel which included his forced fumble. CB James Pierre had the Vikings lone interception on the day in the 4th quarter, which led to another Vikings TD.  Paul Allen and Pete Bercich breakdown the game, including: Carson Wentz stepping in and leading the team to victory in a hard-fought game, the importance of momentum and keeping a level head in high pressure situations, and the challenge presented by the Bears next week at Soldier Field.     Vikings Postgame Report: The Vikings Defeat The New York Giants 13-10 To Open The 2026 Preseason - Preseason Wk 1

    Welcome back to the Vikings Postgame Report.  The Minnesota Vikings defeated the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Quarterback Kyler Murray opened the game for the Vikings on the opening drive and led the Offense into the Red Zone where Kicker Will Reichard converted a 35-yard field goal. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy came in with the #2’s and finished the day 4-of-7 for 34 passing yards. Quarterback Carson Wentz finished out the game throwing 9-of-14 for 81 yards and a touchdown to WR Myles Price. Myles led the team in receiving with 4 catches for 51 yards. Rookie running back Demond Claiborne led the rushing attack with 34 yards on 12 carries. Defensively, OLB Dallas Turner, S Jay Ward, DL Elijah Williams and LB Bo Richter all recorded sacks in the game. LB Jacob Roberts and S Jacob Thomas snagged interceptions. Kicker Will Reichard finished the day 2-for-2 with an extra point, including a long shot from 54 yards.  Paul Allen and Pete Bercich breakdown the game, including: the Vikings efforts to emphasize the running game from the jump, the aggressiveness of the defense bringing the heat, and the areas they expect to see the team focus on as the Baltimore Ravens come to town for joint practices.
