Hello ya bunch of cuties! The Cooking GRRRL podcast is all about chefs and food forward people. We dive deep into the food scene in LA and (hopefully) around the country. We choose to have GRRRL in our name based on The Riot grrrl movement which is a subcultural movement that combines feminism, punk music, politics and NOW food. We talk about what inspires us, excites us and how food brings us together. This is a podcast of passion and a labor of love, I hope you all enjoy. 💗“Some people say that little girls should be seen and not heard” - X- Ray Spex

09 - Sleaford Mods (Jason Williamson aka "Baking Daddy")

09 - Sleaford Mods (Jason Williamson aka "Baking Daddy")

Hey there ya buncha cuties! This week we have an incredible musical guest all the way from the UK, Jason Williamson of the band/duo, Sleaford Mods. Jason along with bandmate Andrew Fearn have been making music that's abrasive, minimalist and embittered with explorations of austerity-era Britain, culture, and working class life, delivered in Williamson's East Midlands accent.

"Undoubtedly, absolutely, definitely the world's greatest Rock and Roll band: Sleaford Mods!" - Iggy Pop

Since quarantine, Jason has been doing a bit on instagram where he's dubbed himself, "Baking Daddy" where he showcases his baking talents while being both smutty, sexy and hilarious.

We talk about early life in Britain, current life in lockdown, the many food references Sleaford Mods plays around with in their songs, and staying positive during strange times.

They have a new single out now, "Mork and Mindy" featuring singer Billy Nomates. They also just announced their new album, Spare Ribs. Out January 15, 2021 on Rough Trade.
